RE: Ladder Brackets

I have one of the collapsable 7' ladders from CW. It is 6"X6" when collapsed. A little bit spendy but stores easy. Jim

RE: Bad experience with Seafoaming a generator...

If you got white smoke exhaust you did not follow the instructions and used WAY too much. Millions of satisfied users for the last 50 years know it is a good product that works. Jim

RE: Heater question

Mine in the picture is a Mr Heater Buddy heater. It will run 5-6 hours on low on one of the little one pound tanks. I don't use them I have a propane specific high pressure hose running from the coach tank to the heater. Mr Heater makes a adapter fitting that will allow you to refill the one pound tanks from a 20 pound portable tank that works fine if you want to use the one pound tanks. Put the empty one pound tanks in your freezer for several hours before you fill them and you will get a good fill. It is silent and uses no battery power. Seven years of 12 months of the year camping using one and we are not dead yet(-: I very seldom turn on either of the coach furnaces. Jim

On a trailer you probably don't need anything.

RE: Heater question

If you are traveling from one place with power to the next place with power electric heaters will work fine. If you use non-serviced sites like a lot of State and National parks you need another plan. This is what we have done for the last 7 years with three different RV's. This is our previous one. We do the same in the one we have now. The hose goes to the built in coach propane tank. We use non-serviced State Park campgrounds 99% of the time. http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg219/jauguston/MH-Samixtrailerandboat001.jpg Jim

RE: City water connection and plugging into a gen.

50a service on a RV is not 220v. It is two 120v circuits in the RV.

RE: Want to swap generators...

Golden, Just a fWIW from a former Honda EV 4010 water cooled generator owner. They are NOT quiet. I did extensive sound control modifications around it to try to quiet it down with no more than limited improvement. First it turns 3700 rpm not 3600 like they advertise. The big noise producers is something you would not think about but is VERY annoying. It is the high pitched whine from the cooling fans. There is one on the radiator, one in the generator and another that cools the exhaust system. They all exit out of the bottom of the generator compartment. The access door to the generator compartment has a large section open with just a screen to let in cooling air and let out noise. The muffler is not particularly effective and I added a take off stock motorcycle muffler to the end that helped some. If you want quiet I would suggest you research some of the Onan Quiet series. Our coach has a Onan QD 7500 and after I added quite a bit of additional sound deadening material around the outside of the case it is not too bad. I hate noisy generators especially my own. The only power generator we have that I am totally satisfied with noise wise is the 800w of Kyocera solar panels on the roof. Only problem with them is here in NW Washington the sun doesn't shine all the time so the output is not very consistant (-: We use the Honda EU 1000i in the sound deadening box I built back when we had the 4010 to charge batteries when solar is not enough. We go to non- serviced sites in State Parks 99% of the time. Jim

RE: How many out there still use a car dolly for your toad?

I started with a dolly. Used it twice and said "Never again". I bought a Samurai I have towed four down for 30,000 plus miles since and never regretted getting rid of the dolly. As you drive around see what the number of folks towing four down are compared to how many use a dolly. There is a reason most find something they can tow four down. Jim

RE: City water connection and plugging into a gen.

No on the welder 220 power. All the RV 50-30a adapters are 120v on both ends. If you plug 220 into the RV you will let the smoke out of a lot of things that need that smoke to work properly (-: If your welder has a 120v outlet for your grinder you can get a 30a to 15a adapter to plug into your 50-30 adapter. There should be a check valve in your water line so water from outside goes directly to the fixtures. Jim

RE: Follow-up on new Koni FSDs

I put them on our last coach a 31' Gulfstream Sun Voyager DP. It had Bilsteins from the factory on a Spartan chassis.26,000 miles and it porposed really bad. FSD's stopped it completely. Great shocks. Jim

RE: Should c-pap settings be reevaluated occasionally?

You may find if Medicare is paying for your C-PAP and consumable parts some equipment suppliers will call you and try to talk you into reordering everything that Medicare will pay for. First time I being new to this said sure so I went out and picked up the bag of stuff. There was all new stuff. Mask,(Swift FX) hose, nasal cushions filters, etc. When I got home in the bag was a copy of the invoice to Medicare. It was over $1000.00! I went back and questioned them and they said the prices were set by the government and that is what they charge. I looked at cpap.com on line and could have gotten it all for less than $150.00. With what I got I am set for at least 5 years if not more. They still call and I tell them I don't need anything. Jim

RE: Should c-pap settings be reevaluated occasionally?

A great place for C-PAP information is cpaptalk.com. If you get on that Forum it is possible to get the software e-mailed to you from one of the members that will let you read your own memory card. Also how to adjust the settings the people that provide your equipment lock out so only they can see what is on the card and only they can make adjustments-not good (-: You need to be in control of your own therapy. I have a Resperonics System One Auto and can access all the data stored on the memory card and make any changes I feel might help. If anyone is about to go on C-PAP don't let the equipment provider stick you with a fixed output machine. Insist on a Auto. Have the sleep doctor write your prescription with a range of pressures like 8-12 and not a single pressure. Many times the sleep doctors clinic will also want to be the equipment provider. More profit. I suggest you do some research with others in the C-PAP community and find out what providers are good and what ones are bad. You will hear a lot about providers on cpaptalk.com. When you decide where you want to get your equipment after your sleep test when you have your follow up with the sleep doctor ask him to write the script for a range of pressures so you get a Auto machine then ask him to give you the prescription. Don't let him talk you out of the Auto.He may want to either supply the equipment himself or he may want to call your prescription to a cohort for a nice little kickback. Its your prescription and he has to give it to you if you ask. That way the equipment provider will have to give you a auto machine. They get paid exactly the same for a single pressure machine as they do for a auto (Same computer payment code for both)so they will try to pass off a cheap machine on you. Equipment providers cannot usually be trusted to have your best interests as their priority. All of this I learned on cpaptalk.com. Great people there. Jim

RE: Dolly towing backwards

You will need to watch it close. When going backward with the rear elevated the front wheel caster is backward and the wheels are effectively toed out instead of toed in. That "can" make for some unusual handling issues. Be sure the steering wheel is secured so it can't move at all.

RE: Trac bar (panhard bar)

My E-350 chassis I put the track bar on had leaf springs. It made a huge difference. The chassis did not have a rear sway bar and Henderson Line-up told me if it was wander I was trying to fix don't even bother with a sway bar it will do nothing to help that problem. Jim

RE: Trac bar (panhard bar)

If it didn't have one you will be pleasantly suprised. I made one for a Ford E-350 Chassis 27' class C and it made a huge improvement in wander. Jim

RE: Bright headlight for 1997 dodge b2500 ram van

There is a lot more to HID headlights than just bulbs. Have you looked to see if the headlight area on the van might be similar or the same as a pickup. The pickup setup might be adaptable. HID is expensive! Jim

RE: Nook Tablet vs Kindle Fire

DW and I both have Kindle Fires and love them. There is thousands of free books you can download. Amazon has a new free book list every day. They are free for a day or two when first released then you must pay for them. WIFI is needed to load the books from the Amazon site but once you have downloaded them you don't need WIFI to read them. I have yet to pay for a book. We both have Prime. Go to digitalbooktoday.com Click on best 100 books in red. They are all free for a day or two. When you click on a book title there it will take you to the Amazon site. Jim

The inlet end opening of the Flojet is big enough that it is easy to get stuff out of it.
