RE: Rio Grande National Forest

Elk Creek is a nice campground between Chama NM. and Antonito Colorado just off Highway 17. Very good water but no dump. You can dump at a private park near. There are two more NF campgrounds near on the Conejos River.

RE: television reception

We use a dome on top and a portable dish for when we are in trees. We also have a bat-wing on top. Hey we spent last Nov. in your fine city, really enjoyed it and the seafood too.

RE: Walmart and Big Rigs

Most parking lots designed for cars and light trucks can't handle the weight of a loaded semi. Wally World gets it goods from loaded semi's. There are a few Wal-Marts that have a bar across the entrance to the parking lot at about nine or ten feet high to keep trucks out. The unloading docks at the rear are not large enough for many trucks. I have seen this in Louisiana and Arkansas. I was told it was because of the type of soil in the area.

RE: How can you tell if slides fit?

We camp in state and and national forest campgrounds with a lot of COE parks most of the time. Last summer we spent most of three months in that kind of campgrounds with two slides and no problems so don't worry about it.

RE: troubleshootingcruisecontrol

The throttle position sensor failed on our pickup and the cruise would work. I don't know if your M H has one or not.

RE: Sweetheart Rally X, Kerrville, TX Feb. 16 - 19, 2012

Thanks folks for another great rally. This has been so much fun making new friends and seeing the old ones. I almost forgot the little dab of food that we were forced to eat. I think I can talk Betty into coming back for one more next year.

RE: Dish Network Help Leaving Direct TV for good

Once I go to tripod dish can I connect the RG 6 to my cable input where the RV park cable normally hooks and then just change the cables to correct locations in my distrubution box to control the 3 tv's in our rig and dish network box? Thank you in advance! This will not work on our trailer so it may not work for you on your MH.

RE: 30Amp + 20Amp Service

What about using something like this? JTB Power Solution Kit - 50A Power From 30A Service I don't think this will work with some park pedestals because the 20A plug is powered through the 30A breaker. You will only get 30A from that pedestals. To test just turn off the 30A breaker off and if you still have power in the 20A plug it may work.

RE: Question for people who own BOTH a Kindle and Kindle Fire

I do not have either devices. I have a 3G air card wireless connection but no WiFi access. From what I can gather I can down load and upload from from Amazon to my PC and transfer to the Kindles. Is this a correct statement ? Is this also true for the initial account sign up ? We put the air card in a Cradlepoint router and have WiFi for both computers and the Kindle. Works real great for us.

RE: trailer tire blowout damage. need repair info

I called NU-Wa and had the parts in a few days so I would think you could call Dutchman and get the parts. Don't do like I did and not order the little braces that was broken. Good luck

RE: flourescent lights

If it is the ballast I think you can Google your ballast number and you may find one much cheaper than a new light.

RE: 50 amp 30 amp?

Every place I have stayed that was 50A also had a 30A plug in the same box. It is a good idea to carry the adapter in case there is a problem with the 30A plug. Campgrounds with only 50 amp service are out there. This is the last one we camped in. From their web page. Portobelo Village has 50 amp service. 30/50 amp adapters are available at the cost of $20.00.

RE: Landing Jacks

The ground for the landing gear motor got loose on one of our trailers and the landing gear would not work.

RE: Fifth Wheel Battery Question

What is the advantage, if any, for using (2) 6 volt batteries as opposed to (2) 12 volt batteries. I see many on this site use the 6 volt batteries. For us it is longer life. The two 12 volt that came in our corrent trailer only lasted two years and two months. I replaced them with three year old 6 volt batteries that I took out of our trade in. They were still good a year later when I put in four new 6 volt because I wanted all the batterys to be the same age.

RE: B&W companion hitch theft protection

If a guy is going to get in your pickup bed and loosen four nuts and one bolt to get your hitch I don't think one or two locks will stop him.

RE: B&W companion hitch in 2003 Dodge 3/4 ton diesel

Found mounting direction on the internet for the hitch. I guess I should have looked first before posting. Now only wondering about if the hitch is too far back. Will hook up in a couple days and find out. Other short box dodge owners --- where do you place your arms to get the correct distance back from the square tube to the kingpin so you have enough clearance to turn without hitting the cab. Forward -- middle-- or back? I do not have a short bed but I set my hitch with the arms to the back first. When I weighted the truck the front wheels had 50 lbs less weight when the trailer was on the truck. I then moved it to the front. I have not weighted it again.

RE: Looking to escape texas burn ban

We were in an Arkansas COE park about three weeks ago and there were campers with camp-fires. They may still be okay, I guess you could call the one that you liked.
