RE: West Yellowstone to Dubois Wy.

That's the best route - in early July the park will be crowded so it will likely take a bit longer. The speed limit in the park is 45 MPH unless otherwise posted.

RE: N Idaho bike trails - anyone ride them?

This might answer some of your questions... http://southlakecda.com/trail.htm

RE: Wade Lake Montana

It's doable, but tight - the campground pads are only 42' long - tight for your rig. The road is a bit rough, but not terrible. Here are a couple of links: http://www.forestcamping.com/dow/northern/beavcmp.htm#wade lake FS Wade Lake Campground You might camp at Henry's Lake State Park - easier on your rig. http://parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/parks/henryslake.aspx

RE: We have narrowed the selection to 3 Jayco's

We like ours (in signature) - it's not the fanciest trailer, but we typically are boondocking and taking it places normal people don't take 5th wheels. It's a good compromise between usable space and smaller size for forest camping. My only wish would be for heavier axles that allow 6-lug wheels and therefore 16" wheels with better tires.

RE: Why did Ford keep the Powerstroke name?

Brand ID Or what was the ID person thinking when they changed one of Ford's most successful badges that had the highest yearly sales (beat out the Camry)...to then have to eat crow and rebadge it back to Taurus after seeing the 'new' badge sales fall off a cliff... You do know that Ford was making and selling a Taraus, while 500s were being built? They didn't rename the 500 a Taraus untill they discontinued the smaller version of the Taraus. So the 500 was never changed from Taraus to 500, and back. It was just changed from 500 to Taraus. Now had thay named it a Galaxy 500, Or a Fairlane 500. They may have not had to change it. But just 500 didn't stick. But you know. the new Taraus is to die for When I was a kid my dad's 1980 Jeep Cherokee Chief caught fire and burned to the ground. My dad bought a very used puke green Galaxy 500 to get back and forth to work for a while. That thing was an absolute boat! I was so embarrassed of that beast that I would duck when I was forced to ride in it.....what a horrible vehicle! Gee. I had a 67 Galaxy 500 with the 390CI engine with a 4 barrel, and twin Pacemaker Blue Swingers. Few wanted to go up against it. It was one tough, fast, car. Mine was Red, Inside, and out, with a 12 inch shine. I loved that car. It just kind of RUMBLED thru town. And I loved to hear the 4 barrel moan on the open road. But alas. A TrailerTruck ran a stoplight, and killed it. Maybe me too, IF I had been in something less. I still have a 67 Galaxie with the 390 - great car. I hope to avoid the same fate that you had...

RE: Fifth Wheel Recommendations

Jayco had a line of short 5th wheels called "Quest" earlier in the decade that were pretty popular with the tandem pulling crowd. You might look for one of those. I believe Arctic Fox/Nash are probably your best bet if you are going to keep it a long time. I found a 2006 Nash for my brother that had been used maybe 5 times - he loves it and pulls his fishing boat behind it all summer.

RE: Road Construction in Montana - Why Do They

When they have to do a complete rebuild, it's typically due to frost heaves - they really tear the roads up in the spring. The roads are considerably better than they were 20 years ago - better techniques and materials.

RE: Idaho I15 and Highway 20 - Question on free stops!

I found a document that says stays are limited to 8 consecutive hours on interstate rest areas and 16 hours on state highway rest areas. I would say that you would be ok stopping at the rest area about 8 miles south of Idaho Falls.
