RE: Where Do the Dead Norcold 1200 Refrigerators Go?

Well there has been some great input from some purdy smart fellers. Dougrainer, I don"t follow what you mean with taping off the door pins. I do need to see about more solar before the new tariffs increase the price, perhaps too late already. While this thing is running I wold like to be able to reduce the energy requirement whenever we leave it parked for a week or two.

RE: Where Do the Dead Norcold 1200 Refrigerators Go?

Please post how you bypassed the door heaters.
Thanks
X2, and any other way to reduce refrigerator power consumption when I leave it somewhere. I have 250 watts of solar that I plan to put on it but solar is unreliable in many areas.

Motosat Conversion to WiFi Antenna ???

Has anyone converted a Motosat Executive antenna to use as a WiFi antenna? I replaced mine with a Winegard Traveler SK3005 and was wondering what to do with it. I had the brilliant idea :@ to remove the dish and replace it with a WiFi Parabolic Dish and/or a Cell Phone Yagi. I have the Nomad 3 box, it seems like it would be fairly simple to get rid of it & hook up a manual switch to drive the antenna.

Where Do the Dead Norcold 1200 Refrigerators Go?

I'm interested in finding a Norcold 1200 that has a bad cooling unit so I can rebuild it & do a pre-emptive strike before mine quits. Where are they? It would have to be like new inside & out to make it worthwhile.
Please do not tell me about residential reefers, I need to be able to let it run for weeks when we travel away from it with no shore power. :E

RE: Made In China Solar Panels You'd Better Move Fast!

Has the United States done anything intelligent.....have any of the 50 states done anything intelligent like issue tax credits for fully made-in-USA panel manufacturers, and maybe just maybe introduce legislation to eliminate sales tax on solar energy products?
(Sigh) Yeah I Know The Answer...
No sales tax on solar in Arizona!

RE: The best compressor to buy to air the tires to 100PSI ?

Doesn't it have an onboard compressor? I would think there is an air outlet somewhere.

RE: over heated & Broke down, update now in Flagstaff

After reading about your tank bursting, I decided to patch mine which I noticed was seeping through a crack. I wrapped 4" eternabond webseal around it & took a couple of sewer hose clamps & reinforced the eternabond with the hose clamps. Hopefully that will get me back to the Valley of the Sun where Chandler Freightliner will be happy to lighten my wallet.

RE: Replacing Refrigerator Cooling Coils, who's done it?

I changed the cooling unit in one a couple of rigs back, didn't think it was any big deal. If you are considering a residential unit, nows the time. I'm not sure I want a residential unit. I plan to leave the camper for a week or two, maybe three & may want the refrigerator running on propane while I'm gone. Jury's still out...........

RE: Cell Phone Antenna Mounted to TV Antenna

Go here: Jack Mayer Communication and look at the Antenna Mounting Methods. There are pictures of what you are looking for.
That is excellent. I did mount it on the TV antenna & don't have any interference issues. It may not be the best for the road but it will be for the forest. Wizard as usual has a good idea in mounting it upside down inside, that may be usefull when travelling if the horizontal mount doesn't work well.

RE: Entry Door Locks All By Itself

I'll call the manufacturer Monday but was wondering if there are any others that have had this happen. It has done this before with the previous owners and was on my list of things to do. Since it tried to lock me out twice on Friday it suddenly moved up on the list!

Entry Door Locks All By Itself

Intermittantly the entry door will lock all by itself while the remotes are hanging on a hook. This is a P.O.P. Locks remote lock on a 2003 Revolution. Anyone else ever have this happen?

RE: Costco v, Sam's Club 6 volt GC battery

I took my A/C scale to Sams Club here (Arizona) and weighed the GC2 Golf Cart Batteries offered in this area. Both are made by Johnson Controls and have the same physical dimensions. Item 1194 sells for $78.83 and weighs 63.7 Lbs. Item 263769 sells for $97.68 and weighs 66.5 Lbs. I have no idea why 2.8 pounds is worth $19 more dollars.

RE: Costco v, Sam's Club 6 volt GC battery

Sams now carries " Duracell " brand. They have several models:
( •ONLY AVAILABLE IN AL, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VA, WV • )
No Duracell's around here. Sam's carries the Energizer brand here but has 2 sizes. The bigger one is item 263769 & they don't list the dimensions or weight. Costco only carries the one equivelant to the smaller Energizer. Sams Club GC2's The Energizer tag shows it is made by Johnson Controls.
I'll try to get there tomorrow with my scales & weigh them.

RE: Fleetwood Refrigerant Capacity

Good luck with that. I have not been able to find that info for my Fleetwood Excursion. Although I have not called trhe factory, they may be able to help. I bought a set of gauges and refilled until be pressures were in the correct operating ranges.
Bingo! Called the factory & the answer is 3.8#.

Where can I find the R134 capacity specs for my 2003 Fleetwood Revolution? This is the engine operated A/C. I can get it close but would rather have the factory specs.

RE: Lukeville US Customs Lane choices!

I went through the center lane yesterday & had about 2" of clearance on each mirror. The steel poles on each side that you have to drive through are all scarred up from motorhome mirrors.
