RE: roof coatings, any suggestions?

Craig 1159
I have a 1997 Georgie Boy Cruisemaster, my roof was stained with tree sap and ugly black spots all over. After searcing around and phoning I found this company # www.epdmcoatings.com and found them really helpfull and not expensive. So I used their coating which is guaranteed by the way, so this is what I did Started off with cleaning the roof really good best way I found household bleach sprayed on straight let set up a bit scrub hose off have the missus with a hose on the ground hosing the sides off while the roof is cleaned. Then ethernabond tape over all the seams and around vents etc,
then cut in the edges of unit and around everything sticking up on roof and the lay on the coatings two are required but since I had 5 gallons of it I layed it on pretty heavy and used all of it. According to distributor its good for ten years I know that it looks nice and clean and white and according to the missus it is also cooler inside.
Hope this might give you some idea and good luck, sorry about being this longwinded.

RE: Basement lock cylinder came out on 2008 Itasca

Put it back in wth the key, but this time lock the compartment try it once you lock it to open it if locked drive to a locksmith or have one come to your site. He will fix it and then have him check all the others.
Good luck with this,

RE: Campsites near Prince Albert this time of yr

Hi:
Anglin lake might be open yet at least you should be able to drive in there yet. Reccon you have to be totally self contained water taps might be charged but also might not you might be able to dump yet.
Look it up under provincial campsites and phone.

RE: Driving a Class A Tips Wanted

For me the best info I got about driving these big shoe boxes over the hi-ways and bi-ways. Is from www.lazydays.com they have a series of topics under better rving at www.betterrving.com that should answer all your pertinent questions.
Give them a glance you might like it.
Happy and safe travelling,

RE: Roof leak

I did not have a leak but the previous owner parked the unit under the tree's and the rubber roof was a horrible mess. The seams did not look all that good neither so I did an really good cleaning job on the roof and joints used everything under the sun but no thinners. A lot of bleach and hot water to get the sap etc off the membrane after that resealed the joints with ethernabond tape. And repainted the whole rubber roof with 5 gallons of rubber coating not paint, but rubber coating, which I obtained from polytech coatings in Ontario Canada, they also ship to the states, dicor paint might also be used but the difference is ,that when this is applied as to their specs it should last ten years and the roof in my opinion looks great, google it and see what you think especially if you find pinholes my experience as a painter is if you find some there are a hell of alot more. The nice thing about this coating system is it is not only for rubber roofs the have a coating for all kinds of surfaces and you are laying on a very good mill thickness. It sure worked for me, might do the same on your side.
Good luck,

RE: Hose missing from unknown component

Shayne:
I did look at my set up and it's the same two tanks connect with short hose, and the other stub which is bare at your picture. That one stub has a mushroom shaped plug on it my thinking is that it is some kind of breating plug.I looked it up in the service manual and it also shows as a plug but no description, maybe an trip to an auto wrecker with lots of superduty trucks might be successful. Good luck in your hunt,

RE: flooring repair

Wheelman16:
We also have a 1997 cruisemaster, and the carpet was something that didn't suit it is tracking all kinds of dirt and sand. So we replaced it with a vinyl planking "Allure", we bought it at home depot. This material is a snap to lay down but get the best underlay that's available,we choose the tile planks and started from a centerline towards the sides of MH.The removal of the carpet and all the staples is some work but well worth it we also layed an thin underfloor down as we have to come up to the wood flooring at the stove and fridge.
The Allure is easy to maintain and no ill effects are noticed after the severe temperatures we had up here in north central saskatchewan. The unit was unheated during the winter months and as stated no problem with the floor so far. Good luck with your project if you want more info as to what we did feel free to drop me a line.
