RE: Roof A/C not blowing cold, can it be recharged?

How can I tell if it's a bad compressor.
You answered that question in your orig post, i.e., fan immediately comes on and noise never changes. Therefore, the compressor is not starting up.
Now whether its the relay or a failed compressor,..................

RE: Tire rotation

In my '01 Owners manual, it states, in bold type, NOT to rotate the rears. Just flip fronts if you're so inclined.

RE: 1999 Sunnybrook 33RKFS Unknown kitchen switch by monitor

Thanks for all the responses. The switch looks like a regular light switch 110 type. It turned out to be the electric hot water switch. You all are great!
I hope you don't mind that I hijack the thread now that you have the answer:) I have a SunnyBrook as well, with that electric heater switch and I was curious if there is a thermostat for this? Is it built-in somewhere? Adjustable?
I find the water to be far too hot when I've used the 110V option when in an electric site.
If you would "google" your WH's make/model, you should be able to download a manual for it and it will explainify the thermostat function (or lack of one).

RE: 5th wheel landing gear access fuzion 2008

My passenger side landing gear on my 2008fuzion 302 doesn't work. The drive side motor turns the crossarm going to the passenger side, but the landing gear doesn't raise that side. How do I access the support tube and landing gear mechanism. There doesn't seem to be any accesabile way with the generator housing in the way. It looks like I might be able to access by cutting a whole in the closet above. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thx Ron
Maybe remove the portion of the cross drive shaft that connects to the bad leg, and while hitched up, just remove the bad leg and then troubleshoot it?????
Helped a guy do that but ended up having to dig a hole deep enough to get the leg out even when hitched up.

RE: No power to Directv dish

Got it working. Whoo hoooooo. Just took me, a woman, to play with it to get it working. Only problem now is that the rv cable/satellite connection doesn't work for the satellite. Had to run the cable thru the door. We have a new Jayco and don't know why the rv wiring won't work. It does for the antenna.
You can't run a sat input cable thru a cable TV connection.
Theres 13v/18v in the sat cable that can't pass through a cable tv input connection, usually because of splitters in the cable tv line.
Over time, I'm sure you can figure out a cleaner way to route the sat cable into the RV. Just use some imagination.

RE: The fuel gap is closing up.

Several years ago, there was a great hue and cry from the OTR owner/operators of big rigs about the high diesel costs. Things like "its gonna drive up the cost of food, furniture", "its gonna put us all outa business", "theres gonna be hundreds of trucks for sale since we can't afford the fuel", and so on.
Today, diesel is even higher and theres no (at least none publicized) out burst of protest from these same people.
Whats the difference?? Are they now relying on fuel surcharges to make money, and the shippers are accepting surcharges as just another business expense?

Really tough to decide. Either our white '83 Cpe DeVille 4.1L V8 w/DFI or the white '61 Rambler, 6 cyl 3spd w/OD.

Most parking lots designed for cars and light trucks can't handle the weight of a loaded semi.
Wally World gets it goods from loaded semi's.

RE: Camping in Laughlin, NV

The Avi Casino is a few miles south of Laughlin and the cost is a little less than the Riverside.
Good luck!
No longer. AVI's RV Park is now a KOA and is typically KOA expensive.
Today, when you go to AVI's website, they don't even list an RV Park. Have to find it as a KOA unit.

RE: Air Conditioner Mystery

When mine did that (11 yr old unit), it was the motor refusing to revolve. Determined that by removing the cover and manually turning the shaft and it immediately began operating correctly.
Replaced motor and all is good several years later.

RE: Transfer Switch

The brand/model isn't particulary important. Problem is loose connections and can affect any transfer switch. Installation error, not brand specific.
Carriage also issued a recall for this problem.

I have'nt seen it mentioned but one deciding factor for us was when it breaks (and it will), where can I get parts??
A Sears store or local appliance parts house? Kenmore, sure.

RE: 50 Amp extension cord

In 11 yrs of fulltiming, all over North America, I've only had to use mine once.
You normally can adjust your parking to accomodate the cord.
An easier solution is to buy a 25-30' 30amp extension and carry/use that whenever its absolutely necessary.

RE: Make differece how long refrigerator last, gas or eletric

Pardner, you're correct!
Apparently when I'm inserting a new element, I'm actually sticking it into that element holder you've depicted. Since it (the element holder) is enclosed in the flue and surrounded by fibreglass stuffing, I missed the fact that its going into a "tube" (the holder).
My apoligies.
Are you a professional RV tech???? I hope NOT. This discussion is the VERY basic info that any qualified RV tech should know and understand. The Boiler tube is welded to the Chimney Flue and the 120 inserts are welded to the boiler housing also. There is NO Convection going on at all. It is direct metal to metal heat transfer. If you look at the cooling unit links, you will see the BAFFLE that is required of the LP flame to diffuse the heat evenly around the chimney, otherwise the heat from the LP flame would go straight up and not transfer the BTU's of heat correctly. The 120 element is direct HEAT to HEAT transfer on the boiler tube also. The design of the system is for BOTH sources to supply the correct BTU's of heat to operate the system. IMO, there is no advantage using LP or 120 unless your 120 element has a too high wattage per spec. Dometic recall refers usually had a too high wattage element rather than the 325 required and that caused a premature failure of the weld and burst the cooling unit. Using LP instead of 120 is advisable when your 120 source is below 108 volts. LOW voltage will cause the 120 element to not heat as hot. Doug
NO, I'm not. And what the H E double hockey sticks has your overly techno babble have to do with me inserting a heating element correctly?

RE: CG with no Cable

you have to make sure your antenna is capable of receiving digital signals
No such thing as a "digital" antenna.
There are some sold that will enhance a digital signal, but your normal "batwing" antenna on the typical RV will do just fine. Just a little more sensitive in pointing at the station.

RE: Shortcut to disk cleanup?

Windows XP you do it like this
Go to MY COMPUTER (I have an icon on my desktop but you may need to go to START and chose My Computer)
Right click on the drive you wish to clean up, and choose PROPERTIES (bottom item in the list)
The "Disk Cleanup" button is on the first tab that Properties opens.
Very easy to find, I never use it.
He said, WIN7 not XP
