RE: For you Ford 6.7L owners

The thing here which is important, is to recognize that the Canadian diesel fuel standards are better than the US. Canada mandates a wear scar factor of 460 for their fuel, while the US standard is higher at a 520 wear scar factor. Since all I have read anywhere on this Bosch 4.2 HPFP is that Bosch built this pump to operate best on 460 wear scar rated fuel, Then if this is indeed the case why hasn't the other 98% failed?

RE: Now the price on the F 250 gasser?

Want the best deal? 2. No financing 3. Cash in full on delivery The dealer gets cash in full regardless of financing and more often than not will offer a better deal if you use their finance company.

RE: Transmission oil change

Unless Ford recommends a flush don't do it. More often than not a drain and fill is all that is needed.

RE: Buying a 2011 or 2012 ford F250 Gasser - advice?

Didn't say it would be cheaper but a better deal. What I mean is you'll end up compromising on features to get the powertrain you want. When all in all you'll only end up getting 8-10MPG towing. pay a few $ more have a diesel and give yourself more options. You know that you can order trucks exactly the way you want them, right? It is my impression that the OP is looking at new trucks, and most likely won't have to settle for anything that he does or doesn't want. I could get online and find a truck optioned exactly like I wanted it and have it at my local Ford dealer in a matter of days. That, or Ford will build me one. Deals can be made whether a truck is on the lot or not. it's nearly the end of May, to get an allocation and a build date in this model year is pushing it at best. If you miss the biuld date and it get's pushed to 2013 you'll lose all those 2012 incentives.

RE: Buying a 2011 or 2012 ford F250 Gasser - advice?

Well if you're not ordering and trying to locate a v10 with a specific gear ratio you'll probably end up getting a better deal with a diesel; a much more common engine package. It may be more common but no way you will get one cheaper as the diesel is an $8k option to begin with and the 6.2 is the standard motor. The V-10 is no longer available in the pick up. Luckily I snagged one the last couple of years they made it for the pick up for a measly $600 bucks extra. The F-350SRW 6.2L with the 4.30 will do the job. BTW, the OP said it was 10.5k dry weight so we are talking in excess of 12k loaded here and approaching DRW territory. Didn't say it would be cheaper but a better deal. What I mean is you'll end up compromising on features to get the powertrain you want. When all in all you'll only end up getting 8-10MPG towing. pay a few $ more have a diesel and give yourself more options.

RE: Towing with Power Wagon?

the power wagon comes in the 2500, 5.7 Hemi, 4.53 gearing + lift kit. With that combo a diesel pays for itself in 1000 miles.

RE: Rambox

Has anyone put a 5th wheel in the Rambox I put my f'ver in the rambox. Keeps me from having to store it offsite. Then when I need to go camping I pull it out and we're ready to go. Keeps my beer cold too.

Your TC isn't keeping you from pulling a grade; an underpowered engine is.

RE: Ok here we go

1500hd with a 4.10 is only rated for 10,200. Too much trailer and not enough truck.
