If you use good sams trip routing you can set parameters to avoid low overpasses, restricted bridges, etc. We use it in conjunction with our gps to stay out of trouble.

RE: Roof versus Basement A/C Units.

We had a 1999 Diesel Chieftain with dual roof ac. We replaced it with a 2008 Tour with dual basement 13.5 heatpumps. The roof airs were very noisy and struggled to cool our 36 ft coach in the summer. The Tour is 40 ft and the basement units are quieter, more efficient, and allow the Tour to have 7 ft 2 inch ceilings. Having had both I prefer the basement units and have had no problem cooling the coach in 100 degree temps.
