RE: Duramax LMM

I never really supported the aftermarket industry in any way. Always felt if it was better OEM would have used it, to each their own.

If you're 16 or younger: Duramaxforum; if you're an adult or have the mental capacity of an adult: dieselplace.

RE: Monthly food bills on the road

I would say it would be about the same as it is at home. You will not eat out every day at home or on the road (we don't). You should have about the same eating habit's.

I think if you took out all the tire, which truck, best hitch, best all around brand post, we would have nothing to talk about :B

RE: Chev 6.0 towing 5th?

The 6.0 would be OK with a 9K fiver IMO. That is a great engine, I have never heard of anyone having problems with high Temps on them.

RE: Shower leaking

Use Mildew Resistant Clear Caulk. Remember this Glass does not leak, Aluminum does not leak, nor does Fiberglass leak. Its where these materials meet that a leak could occur. Check corners, and seals for gaps, then apply sealant to these areas. A little dab will do, don't get heavy handed with the caulk gun.

RE: New Guy Question

Your truck.
Some time back a family had a pickup with a cover that had side windows. The windows were open and the trucks exhaust pipe was side just in front of the rear tire. They let their two son's ride in the bed thinking they would be fine. They reached their destination to find both son's deceased.
That is a scary story.

RE: Mike Anderson Chevrolet....

That reminds me of the time I went to my local dealership to purchase a new 01 $33,000 truck. I was 40 years of age. I had $33,000 in cash in my pocket and there were 7 sales people looking at me as walked up with concrete all over my clothes. As I got closer to the door they all looked the other way. I was in the showroom for 20 minutes and no one even looked at me. I went home and called the general manager of the dealership and he said in so many words that if you don't buy it someone else will. I then found the dealership owners name and contacted him. Guess what? The apple does not fall far from the tree.
OH, may I mention the dealership name was (Keyscales Ford in Leesburg Florida)
They must have sold some trucks that day and had full pockets too. A broke man is humble, a smart man never shows whether he is broke or has those pockets full. You done the smart thing in this case.

RE: Rubber roof conditioner and cleaner ???

My Fiver is always stored inside, and I never have felt the need to wash my roof. I am not saying that washing it is bad, just saying I never do that. Does it really need cleaned ?

RE: Ever ring your bell on your pinbox?

I don't recall ever hitting the pinbox, but the bedroom slide out jumped out and got me in the forehead several times. I finally put an orange traffic cone next to it to remind me to stay away.
Those foam swimming noodles or foam pipe insulation work well to cushion the edges.
Pool noodles are good, you can get them in orange to kinda warn you of the danger.

Those look like tandem axle drives with bud wheels, if so very cool indeed. The frame would be the weak link now :S

RE: Driving School for fivers?

"Like putting up wallpaper" I know what you mean about that. I would continue letting her drive like you already done, on open roads with little traffic. You can train her you just need to help by being her spotter. Be patient its like teaching anything new to anyone.

RE: Winterized but water is still freezing?! Help!

We usually just run off our water tank when it gets cold. Do this.
That's the only way I could see to keep water from freezing in those temps.

RE: new tires eh??? Some concerns

My truck came stock with the 265/70/17 on it. The back spacing is what is causing the tires to rub. I would crank the torsion bars up a bit to stop this problem, get the front end re-aligned and you should have no more tire rub with a 265. I put a front end leveling kit on mine as soon as I bought it. This is what I used Ready Lift

RE: Flabberglasted to say the least.

I see Bass boats pulled like that all the time. Jet Ski, and ATV trailers are common as well. I don't do it but it is common on the rigs I mentioned, so I guess a Pontoon would not be that big of a stretch.
