iphone data usage

I recently downgraded my data plan from unlimited to the cheaper 200 mb plan. I kept track of my data usage and never came close to the 200 mb limit ( I use a wifi connection). This last month the phones usage tracker indicated that my usage was at 180 mb a week before the end of the cycle, but I got a message from AT&T that I had gone over the limit and they were charging me $15 for the overage. The only change in the phones apps, etc, is I downloaded iCloud. There isn't anything running in the background and I have shut off Location Services, etc. but data is still being used. Is iCloud running causing the data to be used? How do I delete iCloud?

RE: Dometic Refer Not Cooling

I replaced my Dometic with a 10 cubic foot Magic Chef residential fridge. More space and no more cooling issues.

Will tires that were checked at/near sea level lose some of that pressure when checked at higher (8K') altitude and should they be adjusted for the higher altitude?

used diesel mh

The wife and I are thinking about trading in our 38' fiver for a similar or larger diesel motorhome. I have been following those for sale at the PPL website. I notice several that are 8-10 years old that have 50K miles or much less in some cases. The photos (may not be accurate) show them to be very clean. The question I have concerns the motor of a unit that has only a few K miles a year. I know that 50K is nothing for a diesel engine, but they must have been "sitting" for a good period of time. I have a Freightliner (Detroit Diesel) that I pull my fiver with and I "exercise" it by driving it for 30-45 minutes on the road every two weeks when we are not actually travelling. Is that a question to consider, or is it ok for the motor of a motorhome to sit for long periods. Those of you that have DP's, do you have info on this subject?

res. fridge clearance

If I install a residential fridge in the cabinet where the Dometic rv unit now sits, it will fit tightly but without any mods to the cabinet. Since the new fridge is not designed to fit into an enclosed space, will the fridge motor overheat or will the heat vent out to the top of the cabinet? It gets really hot in Texas.

generator choice

I'm looking to purchase a generator for my fiver. It will be either a Honda or a Yamaha. I was told by the service rep at NuWa who built the coach that my 13.5K ac unit has a 15 amp startup rating, and 10 amp run amps, which means that a 2400 watt gen would work. It is a Dometic unit. I called a generator dealer (Wise) and the rep told me that probably wasn't correct and I would need a 3000 watt unit to safely run that ac. I don't need to run anything else with the ac, or, if I do, I can shut the ac off to do so. Has anyone had experience with the 2400 watt gens and 13.5 ac units?

Is there some sort of "tray" that would attach to the receiver hitch of my trailer that I could mount a generator on?

my head hurts ( pin weight calculation )

I have been researching the topic of pin weight on the forum, but that has made my head hurt. I had my rig weighed with the trailer attached and got three results: the weight of the trucks two axles and the weight of the trailer. How do I calculate the pin weight so that I can know the weight of the trailer without being attached to the truck? I was by myself at the scales and didn't want to detach the trailer.

driving tour of ns

The wife and I are thinking of touring the Nova Scotia area by car in September. We would like to see as much of the area as we can. We could fly in and rent a car, or just drive our own car. One question I would have is about places to stay that will allow a pet. Has anyone done a tour like this? I would anticipate spending no more than a day or two in one spot so that we could cover as much ground as possible in the approx. two weeks we would have. Is it necessary to have reservations in advance or can you just "wing it"?

installing a generator

I have considered buying a Honda 3000si to power my 13.5 ac unit. I want to mount the gen on the bed of my truck rather than in the front compartment of the rv. How do I wire the gen to the rv? The gen dealer suggested running a long power cord from the rv to the gen. The power connection to the rv (50 amp plug ) is at the rear of the coach. I would have to have an adapter to plug in a long 50 foot 30 amp power cord. Isn't there a way to hard wire the gen to the rv at the front of the coach?
