RE: removing brake drum w/ nev r lube bearings.

The spindle nut can best be removed using a six pointed socket. I finally used an impact wrench since Bubba at the factory had torqued the nut to at least 600 ftlbs.Loosening that hut is the hardest part of removing the hub assembly.

RE: Alpenlite shower door

The steel plate adheres to the inside of the channel (drain) and after cleaning with acetone or alcohol I used epoxy. If you look under the shower door you'll see an extension piece with a slot in it. The magnet slides into the slot to hold it in place. I think the magnet has angled sides to fit the slot..Hope this helps.

RE: Steel on tires

Retired beat me...Identical specifications on my seven year old Alpenlite.About 35k miles cross country trips in summer and the ribs look new.Typical travel weight is 12k lbs with about 9800 lbs on the tires. Just be prepared for $300+ per tire.

RE: Winfield Stabilizer Install? Murphy's Law!

Dave
Our Alpenlite doesn't have a rigid tube below the floor either but there should be a black three sided spacer to use under the silver clamp to attach the top support. I just attached over the "stop" notice on the larger movable leg.Hope this makes sense??

RE: Under rated brakes on my Keystone Everest

I upgraded my 6000lb axles brakes with the stronger magnets(black wire)and it made a big difference in braking performance.I beleive the number installed was K23-181-00.One of the best upgrades for the money.Cost with shipping was around $200 for all 4 axles.
PS 5er came with 6000lb axles and had brake assemblies with white wires.

RE: Battery removal issues. What to do with cables?

Next time throw the ac breaker off and see if it sparks. There is a cap on the ac unit.

RE: Extra vehicle fee?

The fees vary in colorado from $7 to $9 a day, so even with nine bucks added to the $25 daily rate they're still cheaper than most private parks. There is also a $70 annual pass if your staying longer.
My only objection is camping at state park is starting to look like my phone bill;)

RE: Front Roof Air Help in Colorado Springs

I do recommend Pikes Peak Traveland just west of powers on the south side of Platt. Had some brake trouble on my old travel trailer and they first checked the settings on the brake controller which I had bumped out of adjustment. They reset the controller and after refusing any payment from me sent me on my way.
This is the same place Frank above has posted about.

RE: Alpenlite Surround Sound

Lyle
Turn off the sound for the TV and then using the RCA remote turn up the surrond sound. The Tv will over power the surround sound and make it hard to determine if they're on or not. This is assuming the unit is working correctly.Enjoy your new to you Alpenlite..

RE: Trailer Troubles

On my 6000lb axles with steel wheels the torque should be set to 90 lb.ft. Check your trailer mfg or manual.Oh it has 8 bolts.

RE: cargo capacity, how much

While everyone wants the largest load carrying capacity in a given sized trailer,if the GVWR of the two trailers you are looking at is the same, there may be construction differences that would be advantageous.

RE: Welt/Bulge/Blister on my Marathon Radials

At the start of our third season the marathons on our Alpenlite started with the blisters on the sidewalls. For piece of mind I replaced all four with a quality LT tire and recommend you consider doing so.We've made four cross country trips in weather from desert heat to snow with no tire problems since..
