RE: Euro motorhomes... why don't we have these in the USA?

Don't hold me to it, but I think the Carry Me Camper was built on an older Land Rover with an extended wheelbase. Take a close at the bottom of the rear door and you'll notice how the door was designed to go around the original rear wheel well.

RE: Euro motorhomes... why don't we have these in the USA?

I saw this European moho in Sequoia National Park recently. It's built on a Ford Transit Connect chassis. Based on the size of the exhaust pipe, I believe it has a diesel engine.

This one was parked close to the RV above. This one may be from South Africa or Australia.

I saw this one, also with foreign plates, in Kings Canyon National Park.

Not bad for a 21' long RV. I think they wouldn't sell so well here because they are underpowered. Americans love BIG engines with lots of power. LOL

RE: Good place to spend summer when Wintering in Laughlin, NV

They can go west and spend the summer near the So Cal coast where the weather is mild. Plenty to see and do around So Cal.

RE: T-mobile announces new No contract data plans

Thanks for the clarification. I was under the impression T-Mobile shared the infrastructure with AT&T.

RE: Why is it so hard to find a decent used unit???

Make a note which brands showed signs of leakage and which didn't. Narrow your search to the brands that did not leak.

RE: Helpful vendors or scam artists?

Needles, CA is also known for scamming travelers. Use common sense when approached by someone trying to sell you a product or service.

I forgot which network T-Mobile uses. Verizon or AT&T?

RE: Ready Brute Elite with integrated brake--brake cable

It's the barrier (wall) that separates the inside of the car from the engine compartment.

RE: Padded invoice on work done

When we were called and told the camera needed replaced we were quoted the price of the replacement and the $89 installment fee. We were never informed of the 2 $119 fees.
In my opinion, you were deceived. An additional $238 is quite a bit of money that should have been disclosed to you BEFORE you agreed to have the job done.
Years ago, a friend of mine took his Dolphin to CW to get an estimate to have a Banks exhaust system installed. After getting the estimate, he made an appointment to bring back his moho at a later date for the installation. When he returned to CW to pick up his moho and pay the bill, he was told he needed to pay an additional $100 plus for the additional length of exhaust pipe that was required to do his moho. My friend reminded CW he went out of his way to bring his moho to the shop so they could see it and give him an accurate estimate and not a guesstimate. My friend calmly told CW he didn't have the extra $100+ that they wanted and since he was not notified of the additional charge before they started on the job, to take off the Banks systems and put his stock exhaust back on the moho. My friend said the shop manager almost fell to the ground when he heard him say that. The manager told my friend it was impossible to put his exhaust back, specially after it was already cut up in several pieces. Very calmly, my friend told the manager he felt bad about the fact CW had cut up his old system but perhaps CW could get a good deal from Ford for a replacement exhaust for his moho. The CW manager quickly came to the conclusion they were not going to squeeze my friend for the extra $100+ they wanted to charge him and agreed to honor the quote given to him originally. For the record, my friend was a business owner that knew once you commit to a customer you don't renege, even if you make a mistake.
Ask CW to waive the unauthorized $238 charge or to reduce it considerably. If they refuse, do what my friend did or take them to Small Claims Court.
Good luck!

The closest RV park to Oatman is probably Blackstone RV Park on Boundary Cone Rd. in Mohave Valley.

Thanks for the info. Do you think Dish will believe me if I tell them I put all five receivers in the moho? :B

RE: Lines not manifolded????

When looking for my latest moho, I came across one that had separate gray holding tanks and I walked away. It's bad enough having to deal with one stinky slinky and I didn't want to bother with another sewer hose and Y connector.

RE: First time road trip Arizona, Utah and Colorado

Don't worry about not having a dingy when visiting the Grand Canyon, the park offers free shuttle buses that take you to all the spots in the park worth visiting. I highly recommend visiting Zion and Bryce in Utah. Both parks also offer free shuttle buses and are close to the Grand Canyon. Enjoy your trip west!
I recently visited the parks and enjoyed everyone one of them. Here are some pictures from the parks:

RE: This MH is cooking my goose!

My first two class A mohos didn't have ceiling vents near the driver's seat and I wasn't able to enjoy much of the cold air coming from the roof ACs until I started using a small fan such as the one shown in the picture below. I placed the fan in the middle of the floor behind the front seats to push the cold air from the back to the front and it made a great difference in cooling down the front area.

RE: Curious about towing with a Class A

Pontoon boats are very light weight even though they are big. I used to own 20' pontoon and the trailer that came with it was not equipped with brakes.

RE: 2004 Winnie 24F class C questions

The NADA guides shows the price should be between $25K and $30K.
Don't be shy about making a very low offer. The worse that can happen is having your offered countered. Good luck!

RE: Newmar, Monaco, American Coach

Let's just say, based on my own personal experience, in 2008 Monaco was pushing less than acceptable products out the door. The larger and more expensive units have more bling but workmanship and many of the materials come from the same place. My advice to the OP is do his homework thoroughly before plunking down his money on ANY brand.

I owned a 2008 40' Monaco DP and would not recommend a Monaco product. Go with Newmar or Winnebago. Good luck!
