RE: Temp 55 gall drum septic system? Anyone done one before?

I've never done it but, I had some friends who used a 55 gallon drum. They had a TT permanately parked on their land. It worked well for several years.
If I did it I think I would hook a couple together.

RE: Old u haul truck for towing

U-Haul used to have odd ball parts that only can be found on a U-Haul. Had a friend break down and have to wait 6 weeks for a flywheel
How did that happen? Did U-Haul order trucks with special parts?
I always thought they used stock trucks. Weird.

RE: 1998 Mallard Rockwood

Check for LEAKS. A little leak can do a lot of damage.
Don't worry about the age, condition is the important thing.
Let us know what you decide.

Remco Towing may be a good place to start. Did your buddy check his owners manual?

RE: Looking to Purchase 24' Class C Motorhome -- Advice Needed!

Welcome to the forum Will.
Consider hiring a good RV tech to do an inspection before you buy. It will be money well spent.
Check for leaks, then make sure there are no leaks, then check again for leaks. Even a small leak can cause a lot of damage.
Personally, I would stay away from a rental. Someone said once on the forum: What's the difference between a rental RV and an All Terrain Vehicle? The Rental RV can go anywhere.....
There are a lot of units for sale. Take your time and look.
And, ask questions. There is a lot of information available on the forum.

RE: How many miles would you travel in 1 day?

A good rule of thumb is 50 miles in distance for every hour on the road.

RE: The one specific suggestion you would make to RV makers...

Less 'luxury', more quality.
Quality should be standard equipment, unfortunately it is not on many new units.

RE: The 96 Monaco Exec I want to buy has Aged Out Tires...

I agree, the time for negotiating is before you agree on a price.
What would you do if the seller said after you agreed on a price: Oh by the way, I put new tires on last week, I need an additional $3000.00?

RE: Bring on all the Tips, Secrets, Advice!!

Just under the big RV.NET at the top of the page is a link for Beginning RVing. Click on that and do some reading.
Also, use the search block. There is a lot of information available.
If you have never used your RV, try to set it up in your yard or driveway and spend a few nights trying all the systems.
