RE: Dometic RM 2652

Could be a problem with the fridge light. Tape the arm down that turns on the light so it won't come on when you open the door and try again.
Any of the 12v lights dim? Battery or converter problem. The convereter should power the fridge when plugged in.

RE: UPS for wall warts

Electric blankets will not operate on MSW inverters, as you found out.
The wall warts will be just fine on the UPS.

RE: Fuel Price Gouging

The other scam that is rapidly growing all too common are the miracle pumps. In San Diego a couple of weeks ago I managed to put 16.6 gallons into a 16 gallon tank that was not empty. Didn't realize what had happened until I looked at the receipt the next day. :S
You should have a state agency that checks the pumps.
In Texas you call the Department of Agriculture, 800-835-5832 to lodge a complaint. They are the ones that check the pumps for proper delivery and the weight scales in stores.

Can't tell you the size but it should be with the chassis fuses.
What is the chassis?

RE: Fresh Water Tank Venting

I have two vents, one on each side. They exit in the rear of the tank. That's how I know when the tank is full, they overflow water.

Depends on how long it has been sitting with no charge and how many times it has been cycled down to 0% charge.

RE: Gauge of wire for paralleling 12 Volt Batteries?

Not necessarily the max load. It could be the max charging current.

RE: Solar or Generator?

Just to charge the batteries, get a generator. You can use it anywhere and you can always charge the batteries fully.
Find the right balance between solar capacity, your power usage and storage capacity (more batteries) takes some time.

RE: isolator ??

I'm sure you meant the batteries are wired in parallel.
Did you have this problem before replacing the batteries?
There are a lot of things that could be wrong. Best way is to get a digital multimeter and start.
Charging voltages will be over 13 volts and battery voltages will be under 13 volts.

RE: Cracked holding tank roof vent... how to replace

You can get a roof vent cap at RV supply stores to replace. Most of them just pull off. Check yours first.

RE: How long do coach batteries last?

It is not a matter of years, it is a matter of cycles and how the batteries have been maintained. Allowing the batteries to remain partially or fully discharged is the killer along with not maintaining water level.
My six 6 volts are on their seventh year, Interstates.
The chassis battery is over 10 years old.

RE: Good Plexiglass glue?

Acetone on plexiglass is not a glue but it will stick two pieces together. I have constructed some projects with plexiglass and acetone. It softens the plexiglass and allows a chemical bond between the two pieces.
Anything you used on a windshield would be pretty obvious but acetone would work. I would have someone else push on the backside to make the crack open up a little. You don't want runs of acetone down the windshield. Enough to get into the crack. You can use a dropper bottle with a toothpick to direct the acetone. Just enough to run down the toothpick, no drops directly on the windshield.

RE: Cold weather battery Questions

I stored the MH and toad in Anchorage for three winters. The storage spaces had no power but I stall would have stored the batteries like I did if power was available.
This was two 12v starting batteries and six 6v batteries. All were in good condition. I made sure all batteries were charged fully and removed the ground cable from the coach battery bank and the two engine batteries to remove all loads.
One winter they were stored that way for seven months. One winter it got down to -35 degrees. They were never under 12.4 volts when I returned, most of them were over 12.5 volts. That started on 07 and the same batteries are still in use.
The cold actually helps because the battery self discharge is slower.
There is no reason to remove the batteries and no reason to leave them on a charger all winter. Remove the ground cables and forget it until next spring.
