RE: fender skirts question 04 Cougar

I repaired my fender skirts. I used an epoxy for plastic that I got at Walmart. I removed the skirts, cleaned them and put the epoxy on the back side. I had small visable cracks when I was done. But they never got any bigger.

RE: Fifth Wheel Battery Question

2 batteries when I bought my new to me 5'er. They used to be 12 volt type but I changed over to 2X6 volt golf cart type since we dry camp more often. The container for the batteries is a compartment type with a door panel on the side of the 5'er. The compartment door is louvered to let out the gases the batteries produce while charging.
I hook up a batteryMINDer to them every 5 to 6 months to keep them charged and conditioned.

RE: Back support

Bus driver, 50K behind the wheel of my bus yearly. Oh ya I'm also an EX back pain sufferer.
Basic assumption is that you are carrying your wallet anywhere but your back pocket.
The three following things make driving more comfortable for me.
You didn't say what type of vehicle your driving. Since this was in FW I'll assume it's a truck of some kind. So unless it's a bench seat it should have some kind of adjustable lumbar support built into the seat. If not get a lumbar support.
Also if the seat back has a recline adjustment adjust it to put your spine in the most vertical position possible(keeps you from slumping while driving and curving your spline which leads to back pain).
Get yourself to an office supply place and look for a memory foam seat cushion. Ya can't beat the comfort.

RE: installing peel & stick squares flooring in travel trailer

1. Use a razor blade knife to score the top layer of the old linoleum.
2. Use the knife and pair of pliers to grab an edge of the top layer and pull it off.
3. Then wet down the exposed underlayment paper and wait for it to get soft. Scrape off as much as you can.
4. Then make a pattern of the floor with paper and using your pattern cut out a layer of thin Luan plywood to cover the rough old flooring.
5. Make sure that you fill any seams and that any screws are not sticking up higher than the plywood surface and filled if lower. The smoother the better and extremely clean, as a grain of sand will "show thru" on the new floor.
6. Use your paper pattern to cut out a new linoleum. Lay it in place. It should be perfect.
7. Fold back half the new flooring, apply adhesive to the plywood and unfold the new flooring and push out the air bubbles. Repeat for the other side.
8. Use your quarter round to finish and sit back and enjoy.

RE: DVR Solutions-Options?

X2 on the 625. But it does do HD on the TV hooked up to the DVR and Standard(non HD) on the remote TV. But something you might want to know. We found that you can record 3 programs at the same time. 2 Sat programs and 1 OTA if you have an antenna hooked up to the box.

RE: slider hitch

On several occasions I have forgotten to put it back in tow position when leaving the campground and found it after towing up to 130 miles later. My 5er is a small light weight unit so the truck doesn't even feel the difference between positions.

RE: Rubber roof cleaning

I guess you need to ask how often am I going to do this? I only wash my rubber roof once a year. So I do use a pressure washer. Haven't forced water past any caulking or seals but got rid of a lot of dirt quickly.
I use the widest fan of water I can get(the tip is adjustable), I don't get to close(12-18"). Of course I use common sense and don't linger near any of the vents or AC with the water stream. It might have a lot of pressure, the max pressure of my washer is 2300psi, but I think that the total volume of water that hits the roof is going to be far less than running a water hose on the roof.
So if your taking a tally put me down for using it.

RE: Inattentive car drivers

I was going to tell you how it is here in California but I noticed that your from Florida so I think you should look at the law as it is for your state. I pulled this from State of Florida
Entering and Leaving Expressways
Vehicles can enter and leave expressways only at certain points. Because expressway traffic is usually moving at or close to the maximum speed allowed, you need to know how to enter and exit safely.
All expressway entrances have three basic parts: an entrance ramp, an acceleration lane, and a merging area. Follow these guidelines to enter an expressway safely:
On the entrance ramp, begin checking for an opening in traffic. Signal for your turn.
As the ramp straightens into the acceleration lane, speed up. Try to adjust your speed so that you can move into the traffic when you reach the end of the acceleration lane.
Merge into traffic when you can do so safely. You must yield right-of-way to traffic on the expressway. You cannot always count on other drivers moving over to give you room to enter, but do not stop on an acceleration lane unless traffic is too heavy and there is no space for you to enter safely.
I made the same mistake until my wife told me to look it up for a written test I had to take, then I found out I had been wrong for a long time.

RE: propane valve

This fitting, a Disc Check tee, should let you have two tanks connected to one side of the auto regulator. It may fit your need. If I understand it properly it should let you have one of the tanks working with the other tank on in reserve so that when the first tank gets empty the second tank takes over.

RE: Slider hitch with 6.5 ft bed?

Short bed Ford F350 with a manual slider. I use it everytime I hitch up. I don't have one of those "V" type tailgates. I use the one factory one. So I slide the hitch to the back for hitching up. It allows me to drop the tailgate while connecting the FW, hitch up, put the tailgate back up, when finished I slide it back in the driving position. FW has one of those extended king pins.

RE: Need New Battery

I bought Costco batteries as replacements for my old 12 volts. The decision was solely based on their warranty policy. They will refund your money in full anytime during the warranty period if you buy the replacement(s) from them. So my next set of batteries(2X6 volt golf cart) will cost me the inflation difference between last year when I bought them and when they go "bad". I consider that pretty cheap.
