RE: Sea eagle boats

I have the sea eagle frameless one man pontoon boat. Works great for me to get out on a lake or river to fish. It weighs 42 lbs when in it's bag & I have an electric trolling motor for it. it fits nicely on the deck I had built on the back of my Bigfoot camper. I'm on my 3rd season with it.

RE: Made it to Honeyman SP, Florence,OR. "PICTURES ADDED" Page 1

You must be over at Florence for the Rhody festival. The town really livins up at night with all the old cars & motorcycles. Good parade on Sunday. It's been years since we've been. Used to ride the bike over with friends to take part in all the festivities. Enjoy your weekend.

I think I would have had to wet a line in that pool to see if there were any trout in it. Thanks for the nice pics.

RE: First TC. Please Advise: FWC vs. Other.

Yea I would use 4x4's bolted to the bed with 3/4 plywood mounted to the 4x4's with the tc bolted to the plywood. Then I would put hinged doors on the end with locks. This way you could put your fishing poles or other things in your new basement. Have fun with your new to you tc.

RE: Quick Trip To Holland

I always loved delivering to our Holland yard when the tulips were in bloom. I even would take the wife along once a year. I worked for a lumber co. in Grand Rapids that had a branch yard there. That was many moons ago.

RE: Drafting

Yea I get idiots trying to draft me on a daily basis. I dicourage them by letting off the throttle & letting my jake brake slow me way down. With no brake lights showing they get the idea real fast that I don't like them sitting that close behind me when I'm haulin 105,500 lbs of truck & trailer loaded with 11,600 gal. of gasoline. All it would take is for me to have to make an emergency stop & they would run into my trailer possably breaching the tank which would result in us making the 6 oclock news with a big fire ball.
So as you may have figured out by now I'm against tailgaters whether in my work truck or personal vehicle. If you can't afford to drive the rig you own stay home.

RE: Should I try to mount the camper brackets myself?

You don't want to put your TC in a drop in plastic linner. They are too slippery & your tc will slide around on it. You need to get a rubber bed mat so the tc will not slide around.

RE: Realistic Weight on a 3500 Dually

My 2005 with our 10.6 Bigfoot scaled at 12,350 lbs loaded for the weekend with full water on board. Thats 150lbs over my GVWR She just engages the overloads. The tc scaled at 4K lbs. I do have air bags but don't put much air in them. I use them more for leveling when camped. I also have the stabil loads which alow me to run 20 lbs of air in the bags & still keep the overloads engaged. Hope this helps.

RE: How many have a TC and 5th wheel?

We have had 2 5vrs & enjoyed them. We bought our tc when the kids lived in central Oregon & I didn't want to tow that 32' 5vr over just for the weekend. We found we liked not towing something so big ( Funny I'm a truck driver 36 yrs & get paid to tow)We sold the 5vr & no regrets.

RE: Kindle Book Readers

I'm just waiting for the first set of viruses to come out that *contaiminates* the firmware on one like you can do to a smart phone. Thousands of people with $100+ paper weights :).
Can't hack a real book.
Personally, won't have one, especially given that you don't physically own any single book you have on there.
With all digital media provided by a supplier you are basically being licensed a copy to use when you make the purchase, you never actually own the media, which is the same with all software you purchase.
Also, it's much easier for a government or controlling entity to remove what they decide is a "Banned Book" from a digital format than it is to track down printed copies.
Matt my wife said once she reads a book she doesn't need to keep it to read it again. Also she said if your house or in your case your tc burns down how many books do you own?

RE: Kindle Book Readers

My wife takes her Kindle eveytime we go camping. She don't fish so it gives her something to read while I'm fishing & we don't have to clutter our tc with books.

RE: Looked at new Dodges today

It all depends if you want to deal with personal sales. I traded my 01 dodge cummins 4x4 with 28K miles & got 28K $$ which they sold the next day for 30K. (I met the guy that bought it in town) I paid $34K for my 05 manual 6 speed.
Good luck with your truck search.

RE: Getting the camper bug

We sold our 2003 32' tripple slide fith wheel in 2007 & bought our 10.6 Bigfoot camper & have never had any regrets. Like you we thought we might full time in the 5vr but with todays fuel prices we opted to travel when we retire here shortly at a much reduced cost. Good luck on your hunt for a tc. If buying used make sure you look it over good for any water damage do to lack of maintance. We too have had our share of problems with slides & thats what sold us on this Bigfoot. It had more counter space than most & since I used to build fiberglass boats I figured the clam shell was the way to go.

RE: Front jack failure recovery ideas needed

Wow Kevin in your 1st post you said you were unloading on grass next to your house. With all the rain & flooding we have been getting I would be reluctant to unload on anything but a concrete slab.

Another great tail of two Whazoos. I had my eyes trained on every picture & I kept track of every word.
So whats with no fires on the ground in the desert? It's not like one would set the rocks & dirt on fire.
