RE: another dog treat causing illness

Many of the Dog Treats at Walmart...especially "Chicken Jerkey Treats" are "Made in China". Target is not much better...and Milo's Dog treats are a mix...some USA and some Chinese. READ THE LABELS! "Three of the Milo’s Kitchen™ varieties — Beef Jerky, Chicken Meatballs, and Beef Sausage Slices with Rice — are made in the U.S.- The Chicken Jerky variety is made at a facility in China."

RE: Convert your RV’s propane water heater to gas/electric

DIY...very easy. Basically screw it in and supply it with 120 volt electricity. They work on Atwood and Suburban Water Heaters. Atwood has an aluminum tank that won't rust, the Suburban has a glass lined tank and a anode rod to keep rust away.

RE: Convert your RV’s propane water heater to gas/electric

HottRood has been selling those things for many years, we have used them in the past when we had a propane only water heater a couple of Jayco's ago...worked great! http://images.campingworld.com/is/image/CWI/40000/47672n.jpg?wid=360&hei=370&op_sharpen=1&layer=1&src=CWI/logo.gif&sizeN=0.1,0.1&posN=.42,.4&opac=20&align=0,-1 height=200 width=200

RE: Open Range

Call (260)-768-7771 and ask for Randy Graber....he's the CEO and sometimes answers the phone. Great guy and has been very open and helpful to Open Range Owners. Maybe he can kick start the RV Dealer!

RE: Reinforcing the top bunk

I think the 150 lb rating is probably added by the legal consultants for the RV Manufacturer, it's load limit probably a bit higher than posted. But you don't really want little Betsie crashing down on Tommy in the middle of the nite! :E There are some brands of bunkhouse trailers with a "unlimited weight rating". Our Jayco has a sticker on the top bunk 200 lbs, and unlimited on the bottom. If you are good at DIY, an 3/4" plywood arch on each side of the bunk would take the weight of the upper bunk I would think. Mostly the weigh ratings apply because the top bunk is attached to the walls backed by minimal aluminum tubing or wood furring strips.

RE: Diesel ford ranger

Ford claims it would cut into F150 sales and they don't want it to be positioned at that price point or even higher than the F150. It's a real Shame...

RE: Entry door with glass you can see thru.

We saw a 5th wheel and a TT at a RV trade show that had door window that slid up and down leaving a screen...that was cool.

RE: Hello out there...

If you go to RVTrader.com, enter used, enter your zip code, enter price range and other details such as bunks...you'll find a slew of them. Then you start eliminating and picking and choose which one's you're interested in. Example here... in Washington State for a Bunkhouse TT...Good luck!

RE: Advice On New Fiver Purchase

Lantley...the OP said "a comparable fiver" and I said "has nearly the same floorplan". :h The Pinnacle is Jayco's top of the line 5er, but doesn't have a bunk model.

RE: la mesa rv,san diego

The local BBB says La Mesa RV in San Diego gets an A+ rating...13 complaints have been resolved in the past 7 years to the customers satisfaction. I've always heard that they were some what sleazy!

RE: A/C freezing up

This is from Bryant RV- "THE MOST COMMON cause of icing in an RV roof mount A/C is the refrigerated air leaking directly back into the return air. Remove the ceiling assembly and with foil tape (don't use duct tape) seal the cold air outlet duct so that none of the "chilled" air can leak into the return air path. Secondly in high humidity situations you may need to run the fan on the high setting only, however I suspect your problem is most likely related to internal air leaks. This is a lot cheaper than recharging the A/C and is something the average do it yourselfer can handle. You didn't say whether your unit has duct work in the ceiling, if it does make sure the ducts are open and clear ( remove ceiling grills and inspect with a mirror in one hole and a flashlight in another) and that the transition of the airflow from the roof unit into the ducts are smooth and well sealed."

RE: Advice On New Fiver Purchase

2012 Open Range 427 BHS RVTrader.com shows prices of $52,900.00 Ponchatoula, LA, $54,299.00 Nacogdoches, Texas...and full msrp $76,376.00 in Florida! At 15,600 GVWR lbs I hope you have a really big truck! :E Open Range is a terrific builder, gives you a 2 year warranty and has great quality and customer service. But since you asked...Crossroads 5th wheels are higher end also...nice units from Thor RV with a lot of luxury for the price. The Jayco Eagle 365BHS has nearly the same floorplan, for $63,000.00 msrp with every possible option, sale prices are around $44,285.00 and it is 1'9" shorter, has bigger fresh/grey/black tanks, and also a 2 year warranty. Good luck..that 427 BHS is a really nice floorplan!
