TV Antenna Question

I have a 2002 Shasta Cheyenne with the standard TV antenna and a TV that I bought about 5 years ago. Now I never used the TV with the antenna, either didn't care, had a cable hook-up, or we brought DVD's. Will I be able to get a broadcasted signal now? I do not have a digital receiver. Do I need to replace the antenna with a digital system? thansk tom

RE: Compact folding ladder at Big Lots

I have one of these (got as a gift). I have yet to figure out how to use it. Any suggestions. tom

RE: Shiny RV with Red Max Pro (pics)

Ok... I finished yesterday. It is pouring today so I can not give any after photos. Here are my 2 cents: 1) The prep work was hard. I could not find the 3m white scrubbies so I made due with a scrunge (also by 3m). Not sure if that would have made the BKF step easier but this step was the most labor intensive. With sufficient elbow grease all stains and streaks where removed (I would also think most of the remaining wax). 2) The TSP step was a piece of cake. Just washed like I would normally. I did use a sponge and ladder to make sure all of the BFK was off and to get any hard to reach spots. 3) I started on the back. No siginficant dripping from the rag but watch out for stuff coming off your gloves. Just was observant the entire time. I put on 5 coats. Amazing. I can see the reflection of my motorhome's ladder in the finish. The stuff is real easy to apply. And on this day dried very quickly (low humidity and 80 degrees) 4) I then went to the front. To do a good job I went on the roof to get all of the hard to reach places. Followed the same procedure. My advice is to put a sheet over the hood of the cab (again drips from the gloves). This is where my only harden drip was. Also cover the side mirrors. 5) I did not like the finish on the cab itself. For whatever reason in did not come out smooth to the touch. But I did it any way after having to clean up the drips. 6) Did the sides the next day. they took longer because they are bigger (obviously). Again did 5 coats which took a bit longer to dry due to increased humidity. Actually had the wife out to help with the RMP. I am very bummed that it is raining today and I can not admire my two day adventure. I quess I will see if it was worth it when it dries off. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and advice. tom

Also Perhaps I do not know what a 3M White Scrubbie is. I could not find it at Home Depot. tom

RE: Shiny RV with Red Max Pro (pics)

Yikes A bit disappointed. Perhaps I have done something wrong. I am trying this technique on the back of my motorhome. I washed it with a regular car wash to get the big stuff off, then used BKF with a Magic Eraser (then a scrubbie when the magic eraser fell apart), rinsing real well. I then followed up with TSP. Here are my issues. 1) I still have black streaks. I assumed that the BKF would take them out. I can use some Black Streak remover I have and then rewash. Thoughts on why they did not come out. 2) I do I know that all of the wax is removed before the RMP is applied? It did not seem that the TSP really did that much (Again applied with a scrubbie) at the 1/2 cup to 2 gallon ration. thanks tom

RE: Class C Mods

A somewhat quick mod was to replace the kitchen faucet and feedlines. What a major improvement in water flow and mix.

RE: Shiny RV with Red Max Pro (pics)

Ok... everyone here is getting me excited about this process. I think I will try the rear end cap to see how it goes. I have read several people indicating that removing the old wax was very important. Is that what BAR KEEPERS FRIEND does? If not, how do I make sure the old wax is gone? Also, in the process, will black streaks be removed or should I make sure they are all gone before applying the Red Max Pro? I plan on doing this in the morning before it gets to hot. I would imagine that direct sunlight would be bad when applying RMP. Yes? Thanks for everyone's input. tom

tightening the HW drain plug

I am just bringing the RV back to life and after flushing out the water system, put the drain plug back into the HW heater. The plug is plastic and I used some teflon plumbers tape around the threads. The plug is weeping a bit but I seem to recall that is should only be hand tightened. I could certainly use a wrench to tighten it more but want to hear from the group if that is ok.

Wax the cab over

Just uncovered the camper and will give it a good wash and wax when it warms up a bit more. When I have waxed in the past I had found that the when waxing the cab over, specifically from the window up, the wax seems to dry out very quickly and does not seem to give a good gloss. Below the window it comes out great. I have the same problem in the bend where the back of the MH connects to the roof. Any thoughts. In addition, I have a rubber roof. What would be a good protectant for it? thanks tom
