RE: no dc power when camping

That is the reset on the 12 circuit breaker I previously posted. Ther are two of these on on each side of the master coach battery disconnect on our PW Sprinter. Your manual should have a detailed view of this reset. I have found when the coach battery is low and you plug in the shore line it may trip, same with if you start the generator. We found that that when our original AGM battery was failing the circuit breaker needed to be reset more often. GLad your back on the road.

RE: How long do coach batteries last?

Just remember that when they fail, the drop off rate is very fast for 12v a little longer for 6 v. Depending on where you are at the time the cost may be much more than at home where you can shop the prices.

RE: no dc power when camping

The two 12 volt circuit breakers have very small reset buttons on the side of them. Use a flashlight and look at them closely, find the button and reset them. Your owers manual shows how to do this as well. They may trip when the gen is run or when plugging into shore power if the coach battery is low.

RE: How to troubleshoot aux battery problem

I would spend the money on an AGM. The Interstate that Pleasureway uses is the same one that the Lark Scooters and most electric wheelchairs use. Its specs will surpass any other style except for perhaps certain Optima batteries that would be heavier and most not likely fit the box Pleasureway uses. We use Optima's in our Off Road Class VW. In that pounding environment they will only last about two years. The Interstate AGM will last about four years in the Sprinter. Our Pleasureway's charger does have a smart charge/conditioner built in and the van is kept on shoreline 24/7.

RE: How to troubleshoot aux battery problem

Pleasurway uses Interstate AGM batteries, if it still is the Interstate AGM, most likely it is the battery.

RE: Which battery does the frig operate off of again?

Your coach battery my be bad and an isolator was never installed or improperly and is being fooled by a weird current path. Check you coach battery first.

RE: traving with dogs

It gets crowded on the bed but our dogs love the Sprinter, even though they are old we have a ramp for them and lift them on to the bed.

RE: Need Suggestions Wiring a Conversion Van for 20amp Service

Do a search of local auto salvage yards and find an RV doner and remove the entire system.

RE: Refrigerator and TV Problems

If you do have a Pleasureway, be sure to check and reset the two circuit breakersnext to the modular disconnect. Thy tend to trip sometimes when pluging and unpluging from shorepower. The info is in the owners manual, or PM me with your email address and I will take a picture of mine where the little button on the side is.

RE: GF Performance Chip? Has anyone used this? Sprinter

I looked at the Sprinterstore website. They say the module will result in a modest increase of fuel economy @2-3 mpg. Advantage for a module is for heavily loaded vehicles, shift points etc. The actual price is $799.00,ouch.

RE: GF Performance Chip? Has anyone used this? Sprinter

The module sold by Sprinterstore is TUL an EC approved, price is almost $700.00 dollars.

RE: GF Performance Chip? Has anyone used this? Sprinter

I do not have one but the sprinterstore.com sells one and has real world info on their site. They probably have the most knowledge of Sprinters as they sell the most aftermarket parts, host the Sprinter get togethers and offer Factory 4WD installations using only OEM MB parts. All of the accessories that I have purchased from them are top quality, not cheap, but probably get what you pay for.

RE: Inverters & Batteries - RT / PW / LT

Another way to save on power consumption is to go to the TV's settings menu and find the power setting. We had the origianl Samsung that Pleasure way had installed and droped from like 64 watts to 36 in power saving. A little color saturation loss was all. When Hi Def became the standard we replaced it with a Hi Def model from BestBuy rather than add a converter which would use even more power, it too has power saving features that will extend the battery life a few hours. The old Samsung replaced my old computer monitor an cleared out a lot of space on my desk in the garage.

RE: How annoying is a wet bath?

It is fine for what it is. They are samll, but using the curtains as designed and remembering your limited hot and cold water arrangement you certainly can get clean. Consider it be like a shower on a boat. When the weather is fine I usually use the outside shower for a quick shower.

RE: Inverters & Batteries - RT / PW / LT

Our 06 PW sprinter has the single gel cell and it only powers the TV and DVR. Usually will last 2 days without a recharge.

RE: Electrical Outlets

If your VW is the in 1975 to 87 range, those outlets are fed from from the shore power connection. If you do not have the supplied VW power cord, and good 12 guage extension cord will work fine. Everyone else is correct, if there is no inverter tied into the system there will be no 110 power unless on a shoreline power. We had an 86 Westy Vanagon and added extra batteries under the the rear seat. Mostly for camp lighting and power a portable TV on occasion. They are build very well and will give a lot of enjoyment. A little pricy for parts. Check out gowesty.com in San Louis Obispo, CA and see what they do to those older VW's. Some sell for over $125,000.00 dollars. We traveled all over the West and into Canada many times with ours and never a mechanical failure. I will say they are the worst snow car I have ever driven hovever.

RE: Sprinter with leaking roof

Find the leak first. You can Sikaflex from Home Depot or marine supply house. Zicor for RV's is self leveling and will workas well. Not sure wich is the least expensive.

I took the measurements and photos to go along. I can't sent them to you here as your PM doesn't allow incoming messages. Email me and I will send you files.
