RE: Where are the TC's??

I am in FL and it was very difficult to find what I was looking for here. I probably checked more than 20 around the state and wasn't satisfied with my findings. However, it was time well spent. I learned a lot during the process. The help and advise of the great people of this TC forum was priceless. It also helped me make a decision on the make and model that I wanted. Once I knew that, it was a matter of finding one. Eventually I found 3, almost at the same time. One in Michigan, one in Mass and one in NJ. I ended up buying the TC in NJ from a private owner. So far, it has been great and I love it.
Regarding your question about the electrical connection, this should be helpful. It comes from my owners manual.

Good luck and be patient.

RE: New toy

It's nice to see the 109" with safari roof and the expedition extras (without looking like they are merely for show) - the top picture could almost be crossing tropical Australia - you've even got the British number plate on the front!.
Thanks Steve. The picture was taken at the Merrit Island Wildlife Refuge, just north of the Kennedy Space Center in east-central Florida. It is a beautiful place. I know that the British plate has a specific meaning in the UK, but those I bought online only because I like the European look of it.
BTW, I'm planning to go to Europe next summer, England included. Would love to visit the Solihull Land Rover factory and of course, rent (I believe you guys call it "hire") a Land Rover Defender for the trip. Those are not available at the Land Rover dealers in the US.
I'll save your information. Maybe we can have a cup of coffee or a beer next year. Cheers!

RE: New toy

What a great looking Suzuki! Congratulations!!
This brings a lot of memories to me. After joining the Armed Forces, my first purchase was a 1982 Suzuki SJ410. I was hooked at a very early age with 4x4 off-roading and I knew that I wanted a 4x4. If I'm not mistaking, it was a 1 ltr (980cc), 4 cyl engine, 4 speed manual transmission. It was brand new and I remember making some mods, like a lift kit, bigger tires, better/improved front seats (from a Toyota), A/C kit, etc.
After going thru a lot of old photo albums, I found a couple of pictures that I scanned them to share them with you.

Unfortunately, I sold it 7 or 8 years later to fund my wedding and after a few years without a 4x4, I bought this one. This pictures are the result of a couple of years working on it in my garage on a complete restoration. It's a 1969 Land Rover Series IIA, 109", 6 cyl.

After a few years of having fun with it, I sold it on eBay and currently owned this one. 1994 Range Rover Classic, 4.2 ltr V8, LWB.

RE: Stranded-Rescued-Resurrected

I hope everything is OK with the engine. It should be...
In 06 I had a long commute to work and bought a new VW Jetta TDI. One night my son wanted to go to Gainesville for a weekend a trip. His friend offered to pay for the fuel. Since his friend was paying for it, he didn't even bother to check and make sure his friend was pumping diesel. They got on I-4 and very quickly, it was the end of the trip. The next thing he did was to call me. (what else?) I was on a vacation trip in the caribbean. I asked him to tow the Jetta to my trusted mechanic where the tank was dropped, fuel filter changed, etc., etc.
That was 3 years and apx. 30,000 miles ago. So far it's still running like new.
My mechanic told me that I was lucky. I wish you the same luck.

RE: How much air in the airbags?

This is the rear, passenger side of my spring pack on my Chevy. The overload is the thicker spring at the bottom that is currently not touching the other springs. Obviously, I didn't have the camper on for this pic.
Your vehicle's spring stack may be different.
Dan - thank you for the info and for taking the time to post a pic. Very helpful. I have the Firestone air springs, but wasn't aware of the overload spring.

RE: How much air in the airbags?

A few of you mentioned the "overload spring". What is that? Better yet, if you have a picture, it would be great. Thanks!

VuQube Satellite Wiring in a Truck Camper

I recently bought the VuQube 2000. I am getting ready to install it this week. I will fabricate a rear ladder mount.
I was wondering if any of you with a similar set up can provide ideas on how to bring the cables from outside to the inside of the camper.
If you have pictures and can post them, it would be great and very much appreciated.
Thank you,
Tony
