RE: 99 Bounder All Four Hydraulic Jacks Stuck Down!

I have had the same problem on my 99 Bounder. What I did in the middle of my panic is to turn the MH off and restart. The second time it happened I had to turn MH off and restart 3 times before the Power Gear jacks started retracting. I think it has something to do with the ignition switch but I am not sure.

RE: Ford V10 Oil Change

There is no standard on Synthetic blends. It can contain 1% synthetic oil and they can still call it a blend. I won't use anything other than 100% synthetic. If I want a blend I can blend it myself by pouring some synthetic into regular oil.

RE: Question On Rear Bathrooms

We had a 26'TT with a rear bath. I didn't like it because it was on one side and the bed was on the other side. The mattress had one corner cut off to allow the bathroom door to open up. The bed was extremely difficult to make up due to the configuration. We had no other problem with the bathroom. we had a 34'TT with a rear kitchen and we both loved the setup. Never had a problem with stuff falling or jumping. Our last TT, the 34' one did have shocks on the axle.

RE: No hot water Lance 1055

I would check to see if there is water in the water heater. It might be bypassed. The heat you are feeling on the line could be reflected from a empty heater.

RE: Why is special TP really required?

I try to look for the stuff that says biodegradable, I get mine at Giant Tiger.Isn't it all biodegradable?
No. Some of the toilet papers have lanolin or some other oils built into them and they will not dissolve for a long time. They also tend to clump up. Does feel soft as a feather on your skin though.

Gale. You are right. I didn't even notice that the unit had the clutch. That is a deal.

RE: Unused medicine

Our local Sheriff station has some of the old style mailboxes in front of the station. They are marked for prescription drugs no longer needed, Needles, and other hazardous items.

RE: Lucky No one was killed! (w/pics) - UPDATE #3

I really have to agree with the majority of the members here, the original post should not have been closed. This is a major safety issue. There are a lot of states that allow people to ride in a 5er. There could have been some real nasty results from a frame being welded as this one was. It should not matter what or who is being bashed when safety is involved, especially when real evidence, such as photos, are included by the OP. The photos are proof enough that this did happen and what is being called bashing is in reality truth.

RE: Are F53 AC compressors really this cheap?

Price is about what I paid from a Ford dealer. The expensive part is if you need the pulley. If I remember right the pulley and clutch set up was about $280.00 by itself.

RE: 138 - Lancaster, CA to I-15

If you will be going North on the 15, then I would do as F-Troup said. If you ill be going South o the 15 then I would take the 138. It is a good ride, the traffic isn't bad. It is all 55mph. Some 4 lane but not much. I drive it a lot but I do stay at 55. You never know when there is going to be a CHP with radar out there. Only two small grades to climb one steep downgrade. . It's about 40 miles from palmdale to the 15 fwy.

RE: Combining gray with black...

I'll keep mine separate. Sometimes we camp in areas that have pit toilets but no hookups. If my grey tank is getting full I use a 5 gallon bucket to transfer grey water from the tank to the pit toilet. I can usually go at least 7 days with the black tank before dumping.

RE: stopped up!

I carry a few 4' pieces of old garden hose with me at all times. It comes in handy for breaking up the dreaded pyramid. Just be careful when carrying the used hose through the RV after using it.

RE: '03 Fleetwood Bounder - no brake lights in towing wiring

I take it that you have a gas Bounder not diesel (at least I think so because it is a Workhorse chassis). There is a black box in the front of the RV that should have the fuses that control the brake lights on the Toad. Look there.

RE: used class a motor homes

If the RV doesn't have at least one good size slide then you will be looking at a lot of trouble from the DW. A slide makes a RV more livable. How much the GVWR is doesn't tell you how much the CCC is. For full time the CCC makes a big difference.

RE: Air Conditioner Issues in New 2010 321BH Laredo

Do you have double pane windows? Is the RV a 4 seasons unit? Do you only have the one AC unit? A 31' RV takes at least 2 good AC units to keep it cool when the temps are 95 degrees or better even if you do have double pane windows and good insulation in the walls and floor.

RE: Trailer Hitch - fine for leaving it on back of truck?

Here in California you CAN get a ticket for leaving your ball hitch in place. What they write the ticket for is obstruction of the license plate.

RE: Air Conditioner Use

Leave at least one roof vent open slightly, not to let the hot air out but to allow the high humidity (83%) out. The humidity will rise and exit. Otherwise the high humidity can freeze up the AC coils.

RE: levels for motorhome

After leveling our coach with a torpedo level so the floor and fridge were dead on, I installed a pair of Hoppy Levels. One is mounted on the drivers door for front-to-back level, and the other on the dash for side-to-side level. When we pull into a site, I can level up before I get out of the drivers seat.
This is what I did. I don't have to go looking for the other bubble levelers anymore. I just sit in the drivers seat and check for level. Sometimes I can just move forward a few inches and find a better spot which is more level and I don't even have to get up from my seat.

RE: Looking for fan recommendation

The Fantastik fan is fantastic. They stand behind their products. The newer ones can be operated with the vent closed as a ceiling fan. Anytime you see, time after time, good reviews on this forum, for a product, then it is something to buy. JMHO.
