RE: Sulfur smell

If it has been setting for a month or more the traps on the drains on probably dry and smell is coming from the holding tank. Summer time in Az. only takes about a week inside temps reach 120-135 deg.

RE: Chama, NM - campgrounds? Train info needed

We rode the train last year from Chama to Antonito and then rode the bus back enjoyed it as much as Durango-Silverton. We stayed at the Rio Chama RV Park nice sites and short distance to the depot. You can spend a week in the area seeing the sites very nice area.

RE: Camping near Yoesmite? Help finding a spot

If you are an Elks Lodge member the Oakhurst lodge has a RV park 2 mi. N of Oakhurst. It hhas E&W no dump we stayed there last year for $15 day. A lot of Ca., Az. and Nm. lodges have Rv parking. usually donation - $15.

RE: First long distance trip planned

After 27 years of owning a small business we sold out and planned a 3 week trip to Mn. where I was born. We now talk about all the things we did not have time to see the trip is way better than the destination take your time and stop to see and smell the roses. Yosemite is great but I can name many parks we have enjoyed more. Just my .02

RE: Chaco Canyon

We have a 30' class C and tow a custom built VW baja, we are use to rough county roads at home but do not like miles of washboard.

RE: Canyon de Chelley

We spent 2 nights at CdC in Aug. 09 & Sept.10 never felt threatened at any time 2-3 native rangers patrolling all day don't know about nights. We did both rim drives and a jeep tour in 09 and enjoyed both. In 10 we did the lodge tour in the truck and liked it just as good the jeep. The jeep takes you places the truck does not go but when moving you can not see up high on the canyon walls in the truck we seen a lot of small cliff dwellings we didn't see in the jeep. Monument Valley is great to see but is not a 3 day destination in my book spend and extra day at CdC and drive over to the Hubbell trading post.

RE: Where to stay in Chama, NM?

We stayed 4 nights at Rio Chama in June nothing special but service was great and the train goes right by the park. Gate on the back side of the park goes out to the river very pretty and the bridge for the train is right here at the gate. We had a site that was right next to the tent camping area the park has lots of big trees and shade and grass.
