RE: Recomendations on cell & internet service

i don't know where $49 for verizon comes in but our basic plan without texting is about $90 a month. 450 minutes.
our phone can receive wifi and also can be a hotspot so we can use our computers.
verizon seems to be the best service out of all of the services.

RE: Is it time for new tires?

keep it simple, a general rule probably would be to replace tires every 6-7 years.

RE: Claim denied for lighting strike to motorhome?

to many variables in insurance policies and exclusions are everywhere in policies....i guess the bottom line is ask them exactly why they are denying the claim and go from there.
as for electronic devices there are always exclusions, usually you need to be specific on what is going to be covered.
good luck.

you'll want a TT forget a 5th wheel at that size truck unless you find a very light weight small 5th wheel.

RE: 2 questions; dogs and fish through canada?

don't go out of your way but make sure you have the rabie shot record. once we spend hours and lots of money on a "certificate" from a vet and they never asked for it.

RE: Satellite equipment

couple of things to think about direct or dish.
1.when you move around the usa and you want "local" chanels you have to call.
2.did you know that going out of usa dish and direct aren't legal...don't tell them.
3. you can get "distant" channeling from dish but you only get New York major stations, not bad unless you are in calfornia or arizonia....3 hour difference at times.
4. and, be aware of them rewiring your cabling in your trailer...NOT all trailers are automatically wired for cable/off air/satellite

RE: Michigan State Parks

i'm from michign.
some of the parks are very very popular during the summer. i.e. south higgins lake.
most of them do not have full hook up sites, they have the dump at the entrance.
and when you are in michigan this summer you need to go to mackinaw island and get some joann's fudge...ummmmm good.
enjoy.

RE: Costs of living in an RV?

if you travel a lot you will spend anywhere from $50-$150 a day in fuel.... then there is the RV site....anywhere from $30-$50 a night.
from my experience it is cheaper to own a home than to be a fulltime RVer who moves alot.
If you do not move a lot you can always find cheap rv campgrounds to live at...
we've been traveling across north america since march and we're running a bill of well over $3000 a month in expensives. Yes, it can be done cheaper but not if you are driving all over north america. Propane is the least of your issues.

RE: carbon monoxide alarm

does the detector have its own 9 volt battery????? don't worry about the battery for you whole rig.
as for it seems to do the sound more at night???? it should be doing the same through out the day/night???? is it you just don't hear it????
either put a new 9 volt battery in it (if it still makes noise) or get a new detector...

RE: Fuel Stops for Gas?

i don't know what the other guys will tell you but it is just trial and error.
as i get off of the highway i just look at what is there. i always try to get off where there are several gas stations...that will be the only way.

RE: Germ Warfare on the backside of your RV..........

i have a spray bottle with beach in it....sometimes, when i'm not too lazy, when i connect i spray both ends just to be on the safe side.
probably not a bad idea all the time. i also keep my white hose separate when i disconnect and store. black hose kept in a container.

RE: A/c only blows cool not cold. Any ideas?

we always had problems with our A/C in our bedroom but everytime i took it in they said it was working properly. and like you, everyone else had "ice" cold A/C while mine was just "cool".
turned out that Montana installed the A/C sensor tooooooo close to the A/C and once i moved the sensor it worked GREAT.
but like fpresto said, the first thing is to find out if you have a problem so take it in for service.
