RE: Tow Vehicle Battery question

My TV is a 2007 Chevy 2500 4x4. I do know that the TT batteries were shot...and they have been replaced just this month. I now know the true meaning of battery maintenace. 1995brave, The solenoid sounds like a good thing to do anyway. I'll be checking into that. Thanks for the quick replies.

Tow Vehicle Battery question

In the past while headed home from Camping and stopping at a flea market or resturant for several hours, when getting ready to leave our TV battery would be dead and we would require to be jumped off. It had gotten to the point that whenever we would stop even for a short period of time I would unplug the TT from the TV just to be on the safe side. We are about to head out for our first camping trip this year. I have since replaced the battery on the TV and the TT. Both had been used up and needed replacing. Should I have to unplug when we stop or is something else wrong that I need to check into. I know my TT batteries were not in good shape last year and replacing them may be all that was needed. Any Ideas or comments will be greatly appricated.

RE: Campground fire ring/grill

wadded up aluminum foil in a ball and scrub, followed by hot coals. I made a small grate from expanded metal with 1" square tubing frame so my meat is at least 1" from a grate that may be bad. also use it over open fire by stacking rocks to get it off the flames for cooking

RE: Do you guys take wood with you to the campsite?

My wood is free. We don't camp much further than 150 miles from home and all in the same state. I take it with me during cooler months.

RE: Help with lifts for bed storage?

31 Tundra, I was checking out the Hatchlift.com site. Thanks for the link. Do I need two kits for my Queen size bed or does one kit come with 2 lifts (one for each side)?

RE: leveling blocks

Another vote for the Lynx blocks. I don't have a Camping World real close but have Walmarts everywhere. We have 3 sets and use them under tires and under stabilizers...

RE: What Do You Carry & How

Kimber .45acp in night stand, Remington 870 12ga in closet by door, KelTec P3AT on me at all times. Bad guys and rabid animals can be anywhere and I refuse to be a victim to either.

RE: Exterior lights on at campground

We were across from a camper that had theirs on 4th of July. They turned them off around 10pm. It really wasn't any more noticeable than the other campers around us with the noisy coleman lanterns. We had a good bit of space between us. Flashing may be another story though.

Mine had plugs also. I pulled them and installed brass valves.

RE: Leveling a double axle TT

I have two bags of the Lynx and like them alot. I am planning on getting two more in the future. I like them under the tires and under the stableizer jacks. Light weight and compact.

RE: FOLDING GRAB HANDLE install Q

I don't have a Jayco but most have at least 2x2 studs I think. At lest my Skyline did when I installed the handle you are talking about last week. I installed my close to the door just like the little OEM handle was.

RE: Best Campground in Galveston Tx

Not personal experiance but a friend just returned from Galveston and he started out at the Galveston Island State Park, didn't like it and left there after one night and moved to Jamaica Beach RV Resort and said it was great.

RE: Disposable Water Filters

We use the walmart one also. Just like the other we toss it at in November and buy an new one in March. I store it so it dries in between trips. I also hook it up and let water flow through it for a few minutes before I hook it up to the trailer.
