RE: Don't get in to much of a hurry......

What is the light on the lower right of the speedo? Not familiar with the Ram cluster. That looks like the light for when the exhaust brake is on...kind of hard to tell.

RE: First Skydiver to Land WITHOUT a Chute!

I would not call that "landing", I would call it "crashing into a bunch of boxes". X2, I am waiting for the someone to actually flare the suit and land without a safety net. Now that will be landing without a chute.

RE: HPFP ??

If all you can contribute is in your humble opinion anything with a blue oval on the grille is a rolling POS, keep it to yourself. I think Ford's are as good as anything out there and I think they are far from a POS, I like there look and there innovation. Now as far as there well documented lack of customer service/contractual obligation to honor there warranties goes...well that's were they fall into the POS category. I hope everything works out well for the OP and they get him rolling down the road again.

RE: diesel exhaust fluid?

Does it affect power or is it just an environmental issue? I haven't owned a DEF equipped truck but I owned a problematic DPF equipped Ram. It seems that the DEF equipped trucks are in the neighborhood of 3 or 4 mpg's better than I was getting with my 09' Ram. It is an environmental issue (EPA), as far as power goes, today's diesel's are more powerful than ever.

RE: diesel exhaust fluid?

GM and Ford use it as well as most over the road commercial vehicle's. Ram uses it in there 4500's and up but not in there 2500 and 3500's. Although it is not a selling point IMO, Dodge sure tries to sell it off as one. One day, hopefully in the next year or two, they will jump on the bandwagon with everyone else.

RE: Major fuel leak 6.7L Ford Powerstroke

Good deal, sounds like a pretty minor issue and an easy fix. Glad it worked out for you.

RE: Buying a 2011 or 2012 ford F250 Gasser - advice?

At the risk of hijacking this thread, what's the scoop with the new 8 speed tranny? All I could find is that it will be standard on the 1500 with the Pentastar V6 with a late availability on the Hemi's in 2013. Nothing mentioned for the 2500, although I am sure that this will be an option the following model year for the 2500.

RE: Interested in diesel truck for camper -

Gasser....:B... Sorry, I had to do it. Seriously though I would love a late model 2002-03 7.3 Powerstoke or 5.9 Cummins. The real standout issue I came across when researching the 98-02 Cummins was beware of the dreaded 53 block, if I remember correctly what I had researched was that the die used to cast these blocks had an imperfection which led to one side of the block being thinner than the other and they were known to crack.

RE: need new truck

I went from a diesel to a gasser and it is working for me but there is NOTHING like the low end of a diesel. If buying new and you can get away with it, I would go with a gasser. None of us have seen what kind of cost are going to be incurred when the latest and greatest EPA choked diesel's are out of warranty. I have seen the light and for me a diesel is completely weight dependent, 10,000 lbs or more is diesel territory. I am only at 6,000 lbs max, my new Hemi screams but gets the job done here in Colorado.

RE: How much is to much?

The 6.4L and other DPF equipped diesels tend to "make oil" as part of the regen process. Do some searching on google. Yep, my 09' Ram 6.7 did the same thing.

RE: Avion on the wrong side of the Atlantic...

I love those. Why can't they build them like that anymore? I think a resurrection of those would be a hit.

I would say that Red Mountain pass is the scariest, deadliest and one of the prettiest.

RE: What I've learned on RV.net

Never viewed any of what I read here as expert. Just folks relating individual experiences. Some of what I've read on this forum is useful info, some not so much, and some just plain amusing........ Yepper, 'tis true, fer shure! Some of my favorites: A 4X2 vehicle: Is OK if you never leave the pavement. Will get stuck on a wet leaf. Is useless in "snow country". ETC., ad infinitum. A dually truck: MUST be a 4X4; 4X2 duallys are helpless. Can't be driven to the mall or the grocery store. An automatic transmission is better than a manual. A manual transmission is better than an automatic. A gasser is better than a diesel. A diesel is better than a gasser. etc. etc. MY 2WD GAS DUALLY IS A GONNER!!!! SOMEONE CALL A TOW TRUCK!!!!!! see pic http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj109/jerem0621/b1b1ec4b.jpg width=640 It's Off Road, in the grass, with some leaves in the vicinity, and with the gas motor... I just don't know what to do. Can someone help??????????? LOL Jeremiah Get me your address quick and i'll run over there and pull it out with my Dodge...:B

RE: Hobbies...

N scale model railroading I am surprised that model railroading wasn't mentioned a bit more. If we had the room (no basement) I think that is something I could get into.
