RE: Gas additive

If it were diesel fuel...maybe an anti algae agent...but really not necessary for just 2-3 weeks.
You said "gas." ...nothing needed.

RE: Don't get in to much of a hurry......

Kind of depends on the grade you are on...down hill vs up-hill.
Try getting that going UP into the Sierras on I-80.

RE: Help wiring new Hunter stat.

This is what I followed and it worked perfectly. I also wired in a hi-lo speed fan switch.
Strange that your white (furnace) and yellow (A/C) were connect to nothing? Can't help you there since you said that your furnace and A/C were working.??

RE: Curlew State Park,WA

It's a beautiful park...right on the lake, boating, swimming, hiking, spacious sites with hook-ups.
Right around the 4th of July, you better have reservations..probably months ago.
I think you are taking a big risk by just showing up and hoping to get a site.

RE: Moving over to the dark side...

You are going to wonder why you didn't "move over to the dark side," sooner.
Looks like a very nice trailer and a good combination for you truck.
As always, keep the load light and don't over pack the bed of your truck.
Congrats and have fun.

Right up there with the $1200 paint and upholstery protection they sell to folks on new trailers.
(life time guarantee - as long as you reapply every 6 months.)

RE: Upgrade Tundra to F150 HD?

Unless you have the bug to get a new truck, keep the Tundra.
If you think you need a bigger truck then I would get a bigger truck by going to a 3/4 ton.

RE: pellet guns in Mexico

Don't know if they are legal but legal and illegal are often a fine line in Mexico.
Back when, we had a surf crash pad in Baha. We had a pellet gun that we use to plink at squirrels. On day a couple of local police came by in an unmarked old beater and arrested us....as often is, it was a good old fashion shake down...big hassle, lots of threats and ultimately we paid a "mordida," (bribe) and they drove off with the rifle.

RE: Tow Vehicle Question

Your Tundra and a 4800 lb. dry 25 footer should be a good combination.
What you are feeling is "porpoising." This is not uncommon on concrete roads with regularly spaced seams.
You might try putting one more chain link under tension on your weight distribution bars.
Also, was the trailer empty when you experienced this? More tongue weight might also help...which will happen when you load up your gear, food, sutff, etc. for a trip.

RE: Please wash your hands

My ancestors spent 6 months in a covered wagon on the Oregon Trail. They probably took less than 5 baths and washed their hands less than that the whole time.

RE: Wanting to burn my tents

Kenny,
Welcome to the Forum.
I see two purchases in your future:
Maybe another trailer WITH at least 1 slide.
Certainly a bigger tow vehicle.
Explorer Sport with 4.0...too short of a wheel base and too weak of a motor and not enough payload for the loaded tongue weight of that trailer and passengers and gear in the Explorer.
Probably not what you wanted to hear, but you are doing the right thing by researching first...some of us didn't and paid the price.

Make sure that your outside shower is turned off..not just on the wand, but the actual hot/cold knobs are off.check your water heater by-pass valves.
