RE: Rt 35 Oregon I 84 to Mt Hood Village Resort

Only problem I see is how 35 climbs up the east slope of Mt Hood and then you drop down from Government Camp to MtHood RV. But since there is really no good way 35 is about the best choice. Gut from Troutdale it is only about a 35 minute jaunt on a nice 4 lane road, whereas 35 is two lane.

RE: Corn beef hash?

Cook your own corned beef, Shred it and using canned potatoes make your own. Cheap and easy to do. If I am making it at home, I will either microwave a couple of potatoes to about half done, take them out and dice them up or buy canned potatoes and dice them. Fry them in some oil in a heavy cast iron skillet. Season to taste. I use Johnnies, add the shredded beef near the end just to heat. Be sure to soft cook a couple of eggs for each person.

RE: How long is too long? re: length of TT

Realistically if you like the less popular camp sites stay under about 25 feet. Longer than that and you start loosing sites. Many state and National sites are older and were designed when most people tent camped or trailers were quite small.

RE: Recomendations on cell & internet service

Does the 49.95 cover both cell and internet?
That price is one basic phone with minimum minutes. Data will cost you 30 dollars a month for starters. If you go with a smart phone you can share the data with your computer for that 30 dollars a month. That is if you use one of the free apps available for everything except Apple phones. Figure between 70 and a hundred dollars a month for phone data plan for one phone. On a family plan another 10 for the second phone.

RE: Electrical shock off of propane valve handle please help!!!

Yes. I have had it happen to me a few times. Always at home and always when plugged in to my outlet. Some days i would get a shock and other days I did not. Once I removed everything except the cord set from trailer to house no more problems. You can always do the light bulb test from trailer to ground to see what happens.

RE: Recomendations on cell & internet service

Most travelers prefer Verizon for its better coverage area. Mifi for internet or a smart phone with wifi. I use my phone with two apps for wifi hot spot.

RE: Advice/Help needed

With a 2500 you are limited to around 10,000 pound fiver. Even at that you will be pushing your trucks capacity with a 2000 pound pin weight.

RE: On Demand Hot Water Systems

Sure, But there are also lots of problems with them. That is the main reason most people are still using the old standby type.

RE: NEED NEW TIRES FOR 5TH WHEEL

With a G rated tire GY is about your only choice unless you go to 17.5 inch tires. In which case you will get a tire capable of handling in excess of 4500 pounds each.

RE: Money Exchange

Another way is to call your local bank and request 4-500 dollars CDN to be picked up a few days before you leave. Sell and remaining cash back to them upon your return home.

RE: Satellite Service?

Dump the cable at home, get Direct or Dish for your home. Then simply take a box from home for each TV you want to watch. Easy.

RE: Help with weight numbers

It's only going to get heavier, so yes you are exceeding your GCWR by 1140 pounds. Adding more to the TH is only going to increase that number.

RE: New Battery Question..

If you are always on hookups, then a single 12 volt is more than enough. If you boon dock most of the time then 2-6 volts will give you slightly better service.

RE: Day Night Blinds

Take it down and do it. It is relatively easy to do. Just takes a bit of time. Heck I did mine while boondocking last year. Bought some cord at a fabric store, dyed it with a tea bag to the right color and installed it. Enough string to redo every blind in my trailer twice cost me about two dollars and about 30 minutes of time.
