At 50 pounds, hefting that kayak on top of an 8.5 ft RT is going to get old quickly. That rear carrier is very cool, but notice the wind deflector that is mounted on top of the RT - and I'll bet that doesn't take care of all the buffeting... And, the kayak you mention is way too long (13 ft) for that carrier. Stick with a trailer. Yakima is highly thought of, but if you have other toys, too, you'll need something different.

There's a 1991 sprint HERE, and I've heard that these were made by the Mallard Company, which went out of business in 1992. More info HERE.

RE: Water Pressure Without Pump?

If the air/water temp was cool when you filled it, and now it's 100+ degrees, the tank may have some pressure created by the heat. You may find that refilling it in the current warm spell will eliminate your "problem."
