RE: Fantastic fan ???

Mine did that at one time. I went up on the roof and cleaned the rain sensor strip. It worked good after. It's a easy try.

We would have left the north and the cold sooner in the fall. Which the last 2 winters we have done.

RE: 2005 Gulfstream Independence Rocks Side To Side

Here is what many of us Ford owners have found to help the side to side roll. And the cost is zero. But do make sure you do not have any broken springs and that the shocks are good.

RE: 2000 Southwind Storm - Need to improve handling

RELAX!!! If you learn to relax behind the wheel you will save yourself a lot of money by not trying to re engineer how a shoebox travels down the road. There will be countless people who swear by this or that aftermarket suspension item but none will have a positive effect if you do not learn how to relax and not over react while driving said shoebox.Randy
Ditto x 10! And really should be repeated often.
I cringe when I see people adding aftermarket and changing these MH's. If it would have made it handle better they would have put it on at the factory.
Start with this cost free fix Free fix and you may not need to do any thing else. Same thing here. If it were meant to be cranked tight on another hole the factory would have done it.
I went to look at a used Class A and on the dash was a hole. Asked the owner what it was for? It had to do with some add on to tighten the front end to prevent sway or steering or whatever. He then took me out to his garage and showed me just how great that gadget worked.....a huge broken twisted piece of iron was what he had to show me that almost took his life when it broke off as he was making a turn and he was left without steering on a 40 ft MH.
On used MH's - Replace shocks, springs and tires all of these contribute to how a vehicle handles correctly. These all parts that fatigue over time and are 'meant' to be replaced.
Just my 5 cents, keep the change! http://i53.tinypic.com/29uud6v.gif
Don't knock the free fix listed. Many of us Ford chassis owners have made the change. Many of us have driven thousands of miles since the change with only postive results. It's easy to change, 15 minutes and if you don't think you want it left that way after a test drive, 15 minutes will change it back.

We are on our second rig with dual pane. I wouldn't buy a rig without them.

Here is a very low cost mod several Ford chassis owners are doing and seems to give much better handling at no cost.

RE: Long term hook up. What to do with fresh water tank?

We sit up to 6 months on a site at times. We always use water from the fresh water tank. I figure it keeps the tank fresh no chance of growing those little green guys in the tank.

RE: DSL vs Mifi/Air Card

I at one time bought a Aircard thinking to use it at home and on the road. But found the Aircard at home only worked during the winter when the leaves were off the trees and then it was very slow. Same with our cell phones, so we have a landlne phone at home along with DSL.

RE: 1st Time Snowbird - Mail Question

If your going to be in one place just get a P.O. Box there. You can set it all up online. It works good for us being away 4 to 5 months in the winter.

Black tank smell after flush

After our black tank becomes about half full we start to get a sewer smell when the toilet is flushed. I'm wondering if the vent pipe is to far down inside the tank. From the roof can I pull the vent pipe up?? If so and I pull it out of the tank can I get it back in?? I cannot see the area where the vent pipe enters the tank.

RE: Gulf State Park AL monthly winter sites?

The lake sites are 2 week only sites and are cold in the winter with the wind off the lake. Last winter rates were $444 a month, but we were told rates for this coming winter were going up about 10%. When we left there the middle of April my understanding was all the reservations for this coming winter were all taken. 80% was the reserve and talk was they were going to 90% reserve. You can not reserve a site. But may select any site when you arrive that is not taken and it's yours for the winter. I hope I have that all correct, if not someone please help.

RE: Back-in only sites. Why

We stay at a campground several weeks each year that has a back in only policy. Managers reason was to may campers complaining about the ones pulling in forward and being door to door. Especially complaints about campers with children and pets not staying on there own site (this campground is set up so if you back in you have most of your site on the door side).

RE: Ford Triton v-10 gas mileage

I've owned 3 vehicles over the last 12 years with Ford V 10 engines. One was a F 250 pickup pulling a 33' fifth wheel. Number two and three were 35' class A motorhomes. Maybe I drive hard, but I've never seen a tank full average over 8.2 mpg even in the flat lands. On the on board mileage computer coasting down a long hill I've seen it get up over 10 mpg, but the average per tank has still never been over 8.2 MPG
