quick question. does rv insurance cover the toys inside? or do you need separate insurance. the bikes aren't registered because they don't get ridden in the street.
Nope. You need separate policies for the toys. Since they have a VIN, you insure them just like an auto.

I'm always confused by permits where you fill out a form and then give it to yourself. Same with the permits around Randsburg. There was a folding table with hippies who had us fill out a form and put it in our pockets. :h

I called the BLM and spoke with a Ms. S Booth (sbooth@blm.gov) and she was very helpful.
She told me to print out this form, fill it out, and then keep a copy of it with us in our camp.
Here's what the form looks like:

I asked her if there were any other date restrictions, and she told me that we are required to have this permit at this time. (Not sure if that was a NO or a YES, but it sounds like this permit should suffice.)
The one "gotcha" seems to be item #3: "Have a responsible person in attendance at all times." Know where we can find one of those? :h

My setup is pretty ghetto, but it works great for us. I don't have room on my tongue for four batteries, so I keep two in a tote and carry them in the bed of the truck. Then once we get to camp, I connect the two sets of two 6v together. That way if anything ever goes wrong with one battery, I still have a good set of two to get me through the trip.

I use combination locks. I have a "system" so that anyone that really knows me knows the combo. works great.
Yeah. "2469" is the first combo thieves try. It's not as secure as you think. :S
