RE: Barker blue tote and Hensley stinger

My bumper has a plastic plug in it where the hole for the ball is. Just pop it out and screw in a ball(could be hand tight for the poop carrier).

RE: I love camping

Hearing our grown kids say"remember that time we were camping and......" Or it could be when the GD(4 yo) talks about camping last year and ask when we can go again. MAKING MEMORIES,they really do last a lifetime.

RE: First trip questions?

Camp for a night or two at "camp driveway". Set up and use all the systems. Take your time and if you have any questions all you have to do is get on the computer and ask away. The best thing to do is RELAX. Most of the systems are user friendly and after a time or two becomes second nature. Best of luck and enjoy.

RE: Feedback on Jayco Jay Flight Swift SLX

My inlaws bought a small swift(not sure what model)last year and they LOVE it. They tow it with their Chrysler minivan with no problem. It is a neat little unit. I am very impressed with the build quality

RE: Help with lifts for bed storage?

pplmotorhomes.com has the parts you need. I just googled rv parts and clicked on rv superstore and PPL came up. Follow the prompts to hardware/locks,then gas springs and there you go. Hope this helps.

RE: Lodge Cast Iron or Cabelas, any others?

Lodge,Griswald or Wagner are all good cast iron. I would stay away from the chinese stuff as you never know what it is made from. Older stuff found at flea markets,garage/estate sales or shops can be real good finds at decent prices. Even pieces that are rusted can be cleaned up and reseasoned with a little work.

RE: Do RVers Contribute to Society?

I think that we ALL contribute by passing on our knowledge, encouragement and kinship on this forum. As campers or RVers we instill in our children the importance of respect for the planet and others, and that, carries into their lives in the world when they grow up. The importance of family and being involved in an activity that builds character and memories that will and do last a lifetime is a contribution to society. So the answer is YES.

RE: Boy Scout Campout...WOW!!!

As a former boyscout I am glad to see that the BSA is still going strong. I attribute alot of my moral fiber to the teachings of the boy scouts. My son never became a scout but my wife and I made sure that our son and daughter grew up as good citizens of the world and we could not be prouder of them. Thank you for sharing a good story with the rest of us. I find that most kids that camp with their families are more respectful.

RE: Al's RV Service Supply - Yuma

$5.20 is $5.20. Lets say you use that $ for gas. Your truck gets 15 MPG. So that is alittle over a gallon of gas. Do you want to WALK the 17 miles or so that the $5.20 would have bought you in gas? I know I work too hard for my money to give it away.

RE: Garden size American Flag

Some of the smaller flags for the garden holders only have a few stripes and stars on them. Thank you for passing the info along.I have actually been looking for a "real" American flag that is the smaller "garden" size.

RE: Help Needed Finding A Leak

I had a simular problem in my campers. If your door is near your awning arms then look at the bracket at the bottom of the camper that the arm hooks on. If the bracket is loose or the lag screws are rusty then the seal has been compromised and is letting water seep in. This problem rotted the floor of my hybrid just inside of the door and my current camper it rotted the bottom board that the aluminum siding is attatched to. The seal around the door is another area to check out too, although it can be coming from just about anywhere and migrating to that area. Good luck!!

RE: Show your grills

I used the RVQ that came with my hybrid camper. It was OK,not great, but it worked. Now I just bring my small home grill(the$80 two burner Charbroil type) and it works well for me. If you have the room to carry it that is the easiest solution. There is no need to clean it,no worry about getting grease and smells in the camper and take up storage space.

RE: Best light weight camper under 20 feet?

My in-laws have a Jayco,Swift series camper. It is an aluminum skinned, stick framed, lightweight trailer built for towing with smaller vehicles. Theirs is a 14' and they tow it with a Chrysler minivan with no problem. I am pretty impressed with it.

RE: How do you use your trailer?

As Jaywalker said,we use ours for sleeping and the toilet. We cook, sit, play, eat and entertain outside. The food is in the fridge and the beverages are in the cooler outside(within easy reach). Beer is always better when it is ICE COLD.

RE: Why I love camping

For me it is an opportunity to leave the phones, yard work, honey do list and all the other stuff behind and just"be". It is great to spend time with the family or just the wife. The 3yo granddaughter is a real joy to camp with. There is something about a camp fire that can just soothes the soul.
