Avanti by Thor

Does anyone have experience with the new 31ft Avanti Class A diesel by Thor? I believe it is on a Freightliner chassis and is a front engine coach. What is the fuel consumption rate?

RE: Parks in NorthEast NM - South CO

Take a look at the NRA Whittington Center just south of Raton, NM on I-25 it is a great RV stop. You could tour Taos and the northeast corner of New Mexico from there and it is beautiful and historic.

RE: Winegard Sensar Antenna

I guess I asked the question wrong. What surface of the antenna needs to face the tv station?

RE: Bridge Clearance

Go to aitaonline.com and find their low clearances listings and of course use the truck setting on your gps.

Winegard Sensar Antenna

This is a dumb question I know but I am trying to use my tv antenna for the first time and although I am close to stations I can get nothing. First, what part of the antenna should point to the station? Also what do I do to verify that the antenna or booster are working? Thanks

RE: Diesel truck choice (or not) to pull a 5th wheel

I have been all over the country towing a 36FT Fiver with my GMC 2500 SRW Duramax w/Allison since purchasing the rig new in 2006 and I would only change one thing. That would be to go to a 3500 SRW and that only because it handles more tongue weight where most RVers get in trouble. A dually is not needed and will complicate your life when not towing. Another point I would make is that when looks and power only are considered the choice is just a personal preference. However, I can't understand not buying the GMC if for no other reason than the Allison transmission because it is in a class by itself. The Allison is quieter and gets better fuel mileage as well. Good luck!

RE: Need New Battery

Stay with two 6 volt batteries and get Trojans. They are far superior and if you find a distributor you can get them for the same money as the inferior brands.

RV Covers

I am 5 years late considering it but I feel a cover is a must to prevent further sun damage to my 5th wheel finish and caulking. It appears Cal-mark is the best value. Any recommendations?

Caulking

Do dealers or factories usually offer a re-caulk service for an entire 5th wheel after 5 years when every thing seems to be shrinking and cracking at the same time?

What causes a clicking noise and a "fault" message when my frig is trying to switch to gas mode? If I disconnect from the tow electrical and reconnect it usually works ok.

RE: Tires question

Go to a TCI Tire Center and take their recommendation. They supply industrial trailer tires to customers who also buy $20,000.00 tires and they cannot afford to make people mad.
