RE: Prepaid SIM for Canadian for internet access in the US?

OK, forget what I just said. Turns out the Sierra 319U caould not communicate 3G with TMobile. So I had to buy a TMobile Stick for $50. Although I am connected 4G, speed is just so-so.

RE: I5 south from Canada to Palm Springs - getting around LA

Heres an update: I took the I5 to the 210 on Sunday afternoon. The only hairy part was when the 5 lanes of the I5 merges with the 4 lanes of the 14; then the 210 exit comes up pretty quick. It required me to move the rig over two lanes pretty fast, and with a lot of traffic it was a bit of a bear, I just forced my way in and made the exit AOK. The rest of the 210 to the #10 was just fine.

RE: Prepaid SIM for Canadian for internet access in the US?

Little update, now that I am in palm springs. Verizon wanted me to buy a stick. TMobile stores have sticks, but they are considerably more than the prices on the web. I wanted to use my stick that I already had, but I had to unlock it first. I used dc-unlocker software and it cost me $10. Then I was able to get a free SIM card from T-Mobile as long as I purchased a plan - I bought $50 worth - 5GB.

I5 south from Canada to Palm Springs - getting around LA

Hi All, we'll be taking the 5er down the I-5 to palm springs in Feb. I am wondering about my best way to get around LA. I can see on the maps, I can take the 210 early, go through San Fernando, Pasedena, then at some point hook onto I-10.
But thats a map - I would like to hear from actual experience.
thanks!

RE: Prepaid SIM for Canadian for internet access in the US?

Thanks L&L. I also found that T-mobile has the same type of thing. They'll also allow me to purchase just a SIM card for use with my own USB mobile stick.

Prepaid SIM for Canadian for internet access in the US?

I am a canuck. We are going to be in the states for about a month. Where we are staying does not have wireless, but it looks like they have cell coverage. I would like to use my laptop for internet access via cell phone. I already have a Telus Sierra Wireless mobile internet USB key that I would like to use (if possible).
Any suggestions for 30 day mobile data prepaid or anything like that?
thanks
