RE: Google Upgrades Docs Storage to 5G Ahead of DRIVE!

25 GB free online storage would be great if MS allowed us to upload folders (and sub-folders) instead of having to select individual files.
I believe Google Docs lets us upload multiple folders.

I use my shower, too, but I put dirty clothes in a plastic laundry basket in the shower. It only takes two seconds to move it.

When to cross from Redding, Ca to Roseburg, Or on I-5

I won't knowingly drive (pickup and 5th wheel) on snowy or icy roads. I am looking for the best website to determine if the next day is likely to be safe for travel accross the mountains from about Redding CA, to Roseburg, Or on I-5.
thanks for any links.

RE: How long should it take to update ?? Garmin 2455LMT

Thanks for all the reply's. I tried again to do a map update after reading on a Garmin web page that I would be offered a chance to opt for a disc instead of online update. I proceeded with the update process and never got the option mentioned before it started the estimated 26 hour download. I paused the download and called Garmin tech support. The wait time would have taken 35 of my cell phone minutes away, so I went online, and sent tech support a messge with a brief of my problem, and a request to send me a CD or DVD. I am pretty sure I will get an answer (in 3 days) that will say, no, you have to make the request online. Maybe they will tell me what I did wrong that caused me to NOT get the option to order a disc.

How long should it take to update ?? Garmin 2455LMT

I got a Garmin Nuvi 2455LMT for Christmas. I went online today to register and update it. After registration, I selected the option to update the device software. The page that came up immediately said it was 50% done, then it took several hours to say "complete", but now it has been saying "updating" for a couple of hours. Does anyone know what I should expect in terms of this update finishing? And, does anyone know how long it might take to do the Map Update?
I am using an Acer Laptop (Aspire 5515) running Vista and using a wireless connection that seems fast and reliable.
thanks, danglo

Answer: Secure (https) sites with any straighttalk cdma

I have a LG220C straighttalk phone. I like saving $ compared to my old Verizon plan. I would like a cdma straighttalk phone (on the verizon network) that I can do my banking on. Is the LG 511C capable of going to secure sites???
Thanks,
danglo
I got an answer from Straighttalk tech support on facebook. They said, None of Straighttalk phones can be used for online banking.
Bummer.

RE: Which latching relay?

I think there is an easier way to do this
since you have to run wire to control the relay,
why not just connect that wire to the power switch of the inverter and turn the inverter on off
just remove the switch from the face plate of the inverter and attach the wires to your new wire and remote switch
Thanks.
I will try that.
Thanks for the other replies. If I encounter problems with Mr Wizard's suggestion, I will look at those too.

Which latching relay?

I want to remotely disconnnect my 1000 w MSW inverter. It is wired with #6 wire close to batteries. I ran a 110V circuit to inside RV where it is used to run TV, DVD, Stereo, etc. Not used for micro wave, etc.
I want to avoid even small (standby) loads when it is not in use so based on what I have read here, a latching relay is needed to remotely open the circut from the batteries to the inverter.
There seems to be a bewildering number of options available when I search for "latching relay".
Could I please get some Brand/Model suggestions from you?
Thanks,

Effect of 5 months storage on 12 V Batteries

What is the effect of leaving a fully charged 12 V battery in storage (apx. 50 degrees F) for 5 months without charging? Is the effect different for a normal car battery and a wet cell RV battery?

RE: Garmin Map update schedule

If you have high speed internet, I would just download the latest direct from the Garmin website right before you hit the road. I would guess the in-store DVDs will always lag behind the web site as far as the latest update. The DVD may even direct you to the website for the latest. And if you do not have access to high speed internet on the road, it will be almost impossible to update that way. Even on high speed internet, the download time is very long.
I bought the lifetime update option for my 865T and update 2-3 times per year but can do it up to 4 times a year. I get an e-mail telling me when a new update is available. As noted, the updates generally do not contain a lot of new info, but in rapidly growing areas it can make a difference as new streets are built and new stores/restaurants/etc go in and out of business.
Thanks for the info.
We only have internet access via Hughesnet and we have the cheapest (read that as SLOW) option. I don't know how big the update file is but if it takes a long time on high speed internet, it will take a lot longer on mine. I won't have the option to download any version while we are gone so I would need to find it on DVD. If the DVD just directs me to an internet download, that would be a waste of $ for me.
Thanks everyone,

RE: Garmin Map update schedule

It seems like a call or e-mail to Garmin would get the answer to this question.
That way you can depend on it being correct.
You may be right. I should have tried that first.

Garmin Map update schedule

I want to update the map I have on my Garmin 855. Anyone know when the next update to North American Maps will be available? I know I can buy the currently available map but don't mind waiting if they are close to another update. Just the one time map. I don't know how long my 855 will last.
We may be travelling when it comes out. Are they sold in stores on DVD? If so, which stores.
Thanks,

Gooseneck reading light, 12 V, where to buy materials

I need to build my DW a 12 volt reading light. She reads in bed and insists on holding a booklight after I go to sleep to keep the RV lights from disturbing me.
I am thinking a gooseneck adjustable lamp that she can point wherever she holds the book.
I plan on hardwiring the light from nearby 12 V wiring through some part of the wooden headboard.
Looking for a source of the flexible tubing, mount, lamp socket and bulbs.
LED would be OK, but I don't mind the old fashioned 5 Watt RV lights either.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

RE: Straight Talk and LG 220C ONE PROBLEM REMAINS

I finally found a way to copy the Contacts from my Straighttalk LG 220C cell phone to my PC (running XP).
After weeks trying to get help from Straighttalk Support on Facebook they finally said they couldn't help me and I should contact LG.
As far as I know, LG doesn't offer help to Straighttalk Phone owners.
What I did that worked was:
1. Start, Control Panel, Bluetooth Devices, Options, select the option to "Show the Bluetooth Icon in the Notifications Area"
2. Right click the Bluetooth Icon and select "Receive a File"
3. On the LG 220C select Menu, Contacts, Contact List, Options, Send Via Bluetooth, Select any contact, Send, Select your PC, Send.
The LG says "Transfer Failed" but lo and behold, the file gets created in the vcf format.
The remaining problem is, I have only been able to do one contact at a time. If anyone has any suggestions as to how to do a "Send all" I would appreciate it.
Thanks,

RE: Onan Troubleshooting help please?

Try unplugging then plugging back in that wire that you plugged in. Might not fix problem but can't hurt to try.

RE: Onan Troubleshooting help please?

if this unit has the glass fuse under a twist off cap by the start switch they get loose or a blown fuse. The newer units have a 5 amp blade fuse which can also loosen
Mine has 5 amp blade fuse. I did remove, check and replace the fuse.
