RE: New to the Pup world and need advice.

the trailers your looking at are a bit pricey - I belive the first one is a 1994 - far too old to even be looking at given that price.

RE: Ontario to Prince Edward Island

The bridge is not scary going to PEI - belive me and I hate bridges. The ferry is fine, but you will have to travel a bit to reach the ferry.
Just look up the confederation bridge on youtube - you will see its no big deal.

RE: Laura Ingals/Little house on the prairie tours suggestions?

Given your location, have you thought about going to ALMONZO's home in upper New York state? Also what about Laura's home in Missori?

RE: Towing Borrowed (notrented) TT across the border

you are not allowed to bring any borrowed or rented vehicle across the boarder. If found out you will be asked to stay in the country the trailer to borrowed from or if the police catch you will be escorted to the nearest boarder crossing.
The easiest and right way to do this is have the person "sell" you the trailer for a 1.00 and have the registration put in your name - then "resell" it back once you return home
Better be safe then sorry - not worth the worry better to have the reg in your name>.

RE: Why did it take 1.5 hours & three operators?

Hey Miles
Be thankful you were not in my shoes and had to wait over 24 hours for a tow truck.
we also had a elderly family (75 years old) that broke down close to where we live - they were 10 miles outside of town and waited in 90+ degree heat for over 4 hrs. I was out with my antique car, so i went back and got my other car and had this family come to my house before they all died of heat stroke. I wrote good sam and told them about this situation - they NEVER even had the courtesy to contact me back. I have also shared this and other stories on here and was told to "contact them through a Privite message" I did and I am still waiting for a response.
|I guess i need to continue to pray that i don't break down each time before \i head out in my vehicles.

RE: Good Sam Towing

I don't care for Good Sam. We live in Nb and they wanted us to wait one time 24-48 hrs to get service - on a paved road in a small community 1 mile from and mj hwy.

RE: 2004 Fleetwood Redwood pop up

Nice camper but you would really be pushing it with a Toyota, once you are loaded with family and items. The current owner was way overdoing it with a Kia.

RE: Summer Camping Trip- Two Months need help

"Niagara Falls and Toronto- 4 days campground info and time alloted pretty good for area? We want to stay on the US side just because of camper and customs etc"
Its a bit of a drive from Niagra Falls to Toronto. Have you thought about the Toronto zoo, Canadas wonderland, CN tower, African Lion Safarii and Niagra on the Lake - just to name a few great places for families to enjoy.

RE: Moose Hillcock Campground NH Recommendation?

In the campgroud the roads are not the , narrow and hilly. Backing in can be a chore, and if you are not skilled . . . plan to spend a bit of time doing it.
The campground is fine but in the middle of nowhere and bears can frequest the campground.
Overall a nice campground focused on family, the even offer Church services - which is a great touch.

RE: Help with Canada trip

Well, if you "thought about turning left in Canada and going till we could come back thru Montana" you will eventually head up in the Rockies, why not turn right and head to the Maritimes. Remember Canada is 5000+ miles long and alot bigger then the US. In addition we have more then one road to travel on. And yes we just pulled out our huskies and sled and took a ride to visit our friends who just killed a polar bear in their new igloo.
Also phone service is a little sketchy as we just have updated our service to having a party line with only 10 people on each line. Its amazing what Bell did for us.

RE: Yard sale buy of the day

Yard sales are the way to go. I have found many an awsome deal at yard sales each year.
We built a new house 8 years ago - we were able to purchase NEW stuff at yard sales for a fraction of the cost.
In turn we were able to shave nearly $25,000-$30,000 off the building cost of our home. It took my wife and I two years to accomplish the goal, but it was well worth it!
