how old should you go.

Well ,I have a 200 kountry star that has been a great rig for us but we are trying to decide if we should keep it or not. She has started costing us a few bucks ,but that is the price of owning one of these rigs. What I guess I am asking is what is reasonable age to keep a rig. Thanks for the input.

RE: converter/charger problem

the two fuses on converter are both good. if the large 300 amp fuse is no good shouldn't the converter still try and put out a charge in the range of 13 to 14 volts.

converter/charger problem

Hi,we were camping this weekend and had to run generator to recharge house batterys, but no voltage change when runnung generator. checked voltage output on converter/charger but was just reading battery voltage 12.1v. I am wondering if anything else could be giving me a problem before I go out and purchase a new converter. On the trip home the batterys charge up to proper voltage. Thanks for any help. My converter is "power source" from Todd engineering.

RE: found clicky clicky

i believe what you are describing is called a "vim" which is a vechile interface module and it has to see certain things like neutral in order to allow start signal to be sent to starter. there are relays in this box and you may have a wealk one. good luck.

RE: NEED HELP WITH CAT C-10

do you have a transmission cooler on your rig, i would imagine you do as most allison require cooling. you could have a failing cooler as this sounds like oil contamination in the coolant. I would have it tested, allison sells kits to test the oil. coolant in the allison is not good for the clutch material. This is just a thought.

RE: Mercedes Benz engines

I work for a detroit diesel dealersship and work on the 900 series, they are a good reliable engine but are expensive to repair and I would think be a problem finding service if you had a problem on the road. They made this engine up to 330 hp. With the new Epa requirements they no longer make the mbe line 900/4000 series,it has been replaced with the dd10,13. I think you would be happy with it,but like I said service may be an issue.

RE: 260 hp diesel - can it be reprogrammed?

I have the same rig, it is a 35 ft . I know whatyou are saying about the power issue,I find that if you shift the trans manually and not let the tcm do it you will have more luck on the hills. You might not be the first to the top of the hill but the last at the fuel island. The mpg I find is great, we are heading to Alaska this year,we tow a Ford Ranger and you Don't even know it is there. The only issue that I know of is that they had a string of bad blocks I believe they were K blocks that were cracking, mine was replaced by cummins, just google cummins k blocks and they will explain everything. We love our rig and I am sure you will too. Happy rving.

part# for seal kit

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me locate the seal kit # for my master cylinder on my 2000 kountry star. I phoned Spartan and they only sell the complete unit at 753.00 . The spartan # is 0341-mm1, it is a haldex part who's # is n37216c.I have seen several posts on line looking for the same thing I am looking for but no numbers. Really hoping someone out there has run across the same problem I am having. I don't want to spend that much money when I'm sure a seal kit will fix it. Thanks for any help.

I don't have an answer for you but I am curious you say you had your hp turned up to 300 hp, how was this acheived, did cummins reprogram your ecm or have you installed a performance chip.

RE: Removing air lines from Midland Purest air dryer

you can just cut the line off which should be plastic and replace the fitting with a brass feral and nut, which you can pick up at any truck shop. those push on fittings give nothing but problems.
