RE: Satellite questions

New feature for DirecTv, if you have internet connction, you can pick up any channel you recieve via your smartphone, iPad, or laptop. Read the fine print on this new feature. It only is for some on demand content. The iPad only works when you are on the same network as your dvr boxes

RE: Tie Downs On Electric Awnings

My tie down set is two sets of dog tie downs that screw into the ground, two ratchet straps and two large springs. The springs give if needed and let it flex in the wind instead of being tied down with no give. Might give the springs a thought..

RE: Hitting the 5th wheel hard hooking up.

Since I am retired I don't need to be in a hurry about anything. I set the pin plate so that it is the same height as the hitch plate and back in nice and easy. Slides in and hitch jaws close smooth as butter. Gotta love that B&W companion. After seeing some of the problems others have had unhooking again, love that B&W Steve I can't recommend the b&w enough. Soooo easy to hook/un hook. No guessing games with this hitch

RE: Rear kitchens-good or bad??

We have had a couple of coffee cups break and 2 plastic shelves in the refer break. Both minor compared to all the extra counter space that we have all the time. Ray Have also had plastic shelfs break in the refer. Forgot about that

RE: newbie backing in advice

I watched a couple of semis back into the dock at work and that helped me quite a bit. What I noticed was they made small movements with the streering wheel. When backing in at a angle they would turn left, straight, left, straight. Back and forth fast so the trailer didn't swing cause once it starts to swing its hard to get it back straight without pulling forward and starting over. It's like you have to foresee the way you want it to go before you get to that spot

RE: Rear kitchens-good or bad??

I make sure to pack the refer tight so stuff doesn't bounce. Always used plastic in the camper so no broken glass to speak of. Make sure you can get to refer with the slides in. I can't and sometimes that is a pita. I have a fridge in my outside storage compartment and stuff seems to bounce more in that then in the rear kitchen area.

RE: iPad 2 or the new iPad?

I went from a iPad 1 to a 3. The screen is a huge difference. The iPad 1 looks blurry after using the 3. I don't have the heat issues and I condition the battery on everything I buy so I haven't had any battery issues. I use my iPad as my primary device.

RE: When do you decide to level left to right??

Put another bubble level on the front of your camer for l/r. I choose against the giant bubble level cause they are ugly. When I leveled mine out I had the slides out and tires cooled down since that can change your l/r leveling

RE: Which Hitch to get....

I would look at this hitch. This can be a gooseneck as well when it is out of the truck. Super easy to use, and can be removed for full use of the bed. There is no click or levers to use or not knowing if its locked in, don't have to do bump tests of any of that stuff. It is locked or open. Solid product. If you are buying a heartland trailer, even with a short bed truck you can turn 88 deg. You shouldn't need a slider. http://www.turnoverball.com/products/gooseneck-hitch/companion-5th-wheel-hitch

RE: spray in liner before or after 5th wheel hitch install?

Have the holes drilled. Have the bed liner sprayed in. Install the hitch. X2 X3

RE: Dewinterize...Don't Tempt Me!

to REwinterize would probably cost you $10.00 and take about a half hour. I'd go camping :) I don't know how you guys do it so quick. Put antifreeze in freshwater tank - 2- This is bad. You should have a bypass on your pump for the antifreeze. If you put the pink in your fresh tank be sure to sanitize...

RE: Why is there a 7 pin female connector on the fiver?

Please...don't mod your trailer so that your marker lights, tail lights and brake lights come on while you are in a CG. especially if you have the ultra bright LED lights on your trailer. in most cg's someone is in another row behind you and they do not to stair at your brake lights all weekend. Off the subject but I agree. Besides it REALLY looks stupid.. B.O. + 1
