RE: FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION

Unbelievable, there are more than enough areas for training. Between 29 stumps and NTC (Ft Irwin) there is more than enough maneuver area and live fire places.
Been in for 23 years now and have been to the NTC 9 times and still have not seen the entire area. Plus there is a live fire area there that just about anything can be shot, dropped, or fired. And i have never been to 29 palms.
Support it! I have never been to Johnson valley but if it were my riding area I would be furious.
The Army was trying to aquire more land in South eastern Colorado for the Pinion Canyon Maneuver area. The citizens have been fighting back now for a few years.
If they get what they want you lose a very large area to enjoy.
Dont let the Good Idea Fairy mess this place up!

RE: Pulling a small utility trailer

I agree with JJ on the enclosed style. It will cost a little more but well worth it IMO. Check Craigslist for a good used one. But which ever you choose get a trailer with a decent size tire so your bearings arent spinning 10 times faster. Good Luck in your search!

Towing with a Mazda CX-9

Just wondering if anyone out there is towing with a Mazda CX-9. Got a friend who wants to tow a 3700 lb dry weight TT and he wanted me to ask for him.
Thanks

RE: Thetford Toilet Won't Shut Off

Same thing happened to me this weekend, CW was no help at all. Of course it was a special order item. They even carry the same brand toilet and no repair parts. Plus they want you to pay shipping.
Found a Mom and Pop shop they also have to order but were much more helpful and is having it shipped direct to me.

RE: Campground in/near Alamosa, Co

San Luis state park, water is spread out thru the park and all have power. So if you have hoses you can get water just about anytime.

RE: Install home dump station?

We know a lot of people who have done just that. Make sure you check with your township on any ordinances. In our county it can vary a lot. We have a couple townships where you have to call it a wash out to legally install and in most you can not leave the hose in except to dump.
X2 on the wash out!! What they dont know waont hurt them! That is my intention when I replace my sewer line here at my place.

RE: Other uses for the Toyhauler

We use our TH for any kind of camping/travel. Sometimes we take our toys and other times we dont. THs are some of the most versatile RVs ou there IMO. We have even used it to move our daughter to college. Loaded up her stuff and took her, then had a place to stay. Your imagination is your best friend!

RE: Camping noob

Had a similar issue and it was the fuel pump. Our TH was also brand new when this happened. It was covered by the ONAN warranty.

RE: How large of a trailer can I tow with 2010 Tahoe Z71.

There are people on here pulling 31'ers. The key is to stay below your GVWR. With proper hitch setups it is all doable. The reason you are seeing 2 different sizes, is because the box is 25' and the overall length to include the tounge make it 28'.
The key stay to towing is to stay under weight. There are some great TT's out there that are well within your Trucks capabilities.
Find out the unloaded weight from the brochure, then you have to add every pound up that you intend to put in ie...water, food, clothes.
Dont forget to add the weight of everyone in the truck and all of the other stuff you load into the truck goes against your overall weight you can pull.
I understand the fear of dealing with the salesman, just know your weights and it will help you in selecting the right trailer for you and your family.
Others will be along soon with more great advice to help.
Good luck!!

RE: harbor freight solar panels

I use 1 set of them boondocking to minimize generator use. I got them last year for 139.00 had a great coupon to get them.
My generator use was cut in almost half this past year hunting. On a 9 night trip we only went thru 15 gallons of fuel and that was down from 28 gallons last year.
They are not enough to keep a continuous load running because they only put out 45 watts, but to keep my batteries charging all day while we play and dont have to run a generator all the time is well worth it to us. I was thinking about getting one more set but I would have to get a different charge controller to handle the wattage.
As for keeping them out in the elements 24/7 I cannot speak for the durability of the panels.

RE: WDH Needed?

X2 on weighing it then deciding which hitch but from the sounds of it
an E2 equalizer would be perfect for your setup. As others have said the Honda kinda has a beefed up car suspension, which gives you that great ride. So if you added a small WDH you would probably be extremely happy that you did. The other plus side is that it would help out with the heavy winds you will run into on the highways.

RE: Max TT Lenth for Tahoe to pull

It is not so much the length but the weight that your tahoe is rated for IMO.
