RE: Liquid Rubber Roof Coating

I finished up on re=coating the roof this afternoon and it looks great. I ended up using the Liquid Roof since it was recommended for RVs. It was more expensive than the Liquid Rubber but i;m happy with it. Most of the work was in cleaning and trimming the edges and around the vents and AC. I did not take the AC out, just removed the cover. It took just under five gallons for my 27.5 foot trailer with a twelve foot side. I did the slide roof first to get the feel of spreading and rolling the mixture. The trailer has a fairly steep roof at the front so I raised the trailer to lesson the chance of Liquid Roof flowing off the front. Once the mixture leveled, I waited about 10 minutes and lowered the trailer to level to do the rest of the job. Sorry no pictures. I had stuff all over my fingers and didn't want to ruin my camera. (Can't work with gloves.)

RE: Liquid Rubber Roof Coating

Thanks Jasult. That;s the information I needed to know. How many gallons did you use. The order page shows a gallon covers 42 sq ft. Did you rough up your rubber roof with a wire brush as shown in the video or just roll and brush in on? Is it put on just like painting? Did you remove the caulking or just paint over? Did you do the job outside or under cover? Sorry about all the questions. Thank you for responding..

Liquid Rubber Roof Coating

I was wondering if anyone with a fiver has used Liquid Rubber on their roof? If so, would like advice on how best to apply this product to my fiver roof. Is it a dificult job? Did you remove the A/C unit. vent covers, and all caulking? Since you can see the front part of the roof, how does it look with this bright white stuff shining right at you?

RE: How to wall mount Oxygenics Hand-Held Shower

I use the sliding holder from Ace Hardware but mounted it off to the open side of the shower instead of the center. Seems to give a little more room in the shower. Works for us.

RE: Winegard RoadStar TV Antenna

The omnidirectional antennas work good if you are close (20 miles) to the tv towers, other wise, get the batwing or jack. I changed out my Rooster for a Jack and it work very well on distance stations (40-50 miles.)

RE: shower accessory

Got mine from Ace Hardware. Don't remember what it cost but it wasn't super expensive. I attached it to a piece of plastic lattice and used double sided sticky tape to mount the adjustable rod to the shower wall. I didn't want to put holes in the shower wall.

RE: Directv setup menu

Mine does that sometimes so I just wait until it quits searching and it will let me enter the setup menu.

RE: High gain tv antenna

Don't waste your money on the Lava HD 2605. I speak from experience with this antenna.

RE: Extend a shower install.

I cut a few inches off the center pole, drilled a new set screw hole for the "hinge" and installed it as close to the outside edge as far as I could. Works great.

RE: Need Recommendation for RV Repairs

Most of the damage is in the rear corner of the slide and a soft spot on the roof of the slide. From the inside you can't tell there is any damage unless you push on the slide wall, it's soft. THis damage was caused by a water leak which has since been fixed. The main reason I talked myself out of attempting the repair myself is i'm 72 and really not up to such an undertaking.

RE: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos

I installed and extra pump switch next to the toilet just for quick stops.

RE: Has anyone used the Flush-King for dumping?

I use my Flush King frequently but not every dump. If no one is waiting in line at the dump station, I will use it until clear water comes from the black tank. As someone mentioned above, the grey water can be used to flush out the black tank if you are in a hurry.

Need Recommendation for RV Repairs

I need to get some water damage repair to my 5th wheel(mainly the slide) and would like recommendations from folks that have had similar worked done on their RV. My trailer may not be worth the expense but I like it, i'm used to, it's home away from home. I would like to use a repair facility in the Covington/Conyers area but would take it anywhere in Georgia for a good repair job. I had considered attempting the repairs myself but talked myself out it...

RE: Repair to my Slide out

skylos.....I think you are right that the unknown is scaring me. I don't want to get half way thru a project and have to call in a professional to finish.

Repair to my Slide out

I have a 2000 Fleetwood Terry model 275J with a 12' Dura Glide slideout. The trailer has a fiberglass exterior. There is extensive water damage to the rear corner (rear and side)of the slide out. (The leak has been stopped.) From the inside you can't tell it has damage unless you push on the wall; then it is softand I'm afraid someone is going to punch a hole in the wall. I was thinking about tackling this repair myself but have no idea on how the slide was put together. Does anyone know where to get a schamitic of Fleetwood slide outs? Will the slide have to be taken out to do this repair? If I deside to hire this job out, any suggestions on who to use in the Atlanta or North Ga area?

Directv Coverage

I was camping in northern Fla (Stephen Foster and Tallassee) this past week and was able to pick up my Atlanta stations with no problem. All the spot beam coverage maps i've seen indicate that I will lose my home stations about 200 miles from Atlanta. I have in the past received my local stations in Crystal River, Fla but would lose the signal at 10:30 in the evening and could not receive my local stations at all from the Orlando area. Is this normal or has something changed with Directv's spot beam signal?
