RE: What Do You Carry & How

A good weapon to carry and legal to carry in any state or country is a can of wasp and hornet spray. Up to 20 feet range and it will temporarily blind anyone. The chances of ever needing anything are very slim but something as simple as a spray can will work if needed.

RE: Right Rear heavy on Phaeton

There are 4- 6 volt golf cart batteries for the chassis and 2- 12 volt batteries for the engine in the same compartment in the right rear . KenIt did not come from the factory that way unless it was special ordered. Adding two more 6 volts will add an extra 130 lbs or so. That would be a start by removing two batteries unless there is a reason you need all 6.

RE: Right Rear heavy on Phaeton

I think the 04 came with 4 batteries, who added the two extra batteries and why? Was the fridge changed out to a residential? That is over 100# extra weight that did not come from the factory.

RE: Electric slide adjustment

Are you missing a roller on that side? Sounds like that end has dropped a little letting the top hit the side of the opening. There is or should be an adjustment on bottom of the slide.

RE: New, need your help please, 2003 Gulfstream Friendship 8408

My experience with gulfstream is several years old, I had 1994 tournaster which was a good motorhome but there was no customer service and the parts department was no better. Things may have improved since then, or not.

RE: ISL

RE: TracVision R5/R4 in Motion Satelite

I need a receiver for this tracvision unit. Does anybody have one they would want to sell? Also will the fans on the ceiling not work when parked and the slides and levelers out. They worked yesterday. I have a Gulfstream 8378 coach. Where would the fuse for this be if it was that. I have looked all over the owners manual and it does not tell me. Bought the unit used and new to having a motorhome. Need some help with probably a stupid question. What fans are not working?

RE: slide problem

After thinking about your post I think all slides do what you say yours is doing. I don't think you are pulling the top of the slide in, if you are that is a very light slide that is balanced on something. The slides are very heavy and can not be moved by hand.

RE: Straw Poll: List your top 5 manufactures.

In other words, whatever I own is the best. That answers your question, right??

RE: Tire balancing

When you buy tires they charge you mounting and balancing, if you do not balance the 4 rear tires you are charged mounting only. If you feel they need to be balanced later on it is still only the balancing fee, same price whether you do it now or later. The theory is that the rear duals will off set each other and balance themselves. That is what I have been told by two different truck tire dealers. They say they do not balance the rear duals on the OTR trucks.

RE: slide problem

If it was a sheer pin the slide would not move. I don't have a HR so don't know how your slide works, it sounds like it may be an adjustment problem.

RE: TST vs TireTraker

I have TireTracker system. it has it's problems but It is the only one I have had so I can't compare it to the other, just like the others can't compare TST to Tire Tracver. The biggest problems I have is it not giving you the tire pressures until you have driven for a short distance, I want to know the PSI before I leave home where my compressor is. I also get a lot of false signals. BUT like someone else said, it is better than nothing and the price is right. Before I leave home I check all tires with a gauge and depend on the system after that.

RE: Interior Slide Trim In Bedroom Removal ......

Have you checked both sides at the bottom? A bad seal will let water run down the side of the slide and inside to the carpet.

RE: Trying to work a deal on a new Phaeton

If the dealer you are talking to does not meet your price try other dealers. You can have warranty work done anywhere, it does not have to be a dealer.

RE: What about Speedco service?

DO NOT use the one in Little Rock, AR, They have overcharged me every time I have used them. Their web site and book of menu services show the ISL as medium duty service they charged me for heavy duty, $70 difference in price.. I argued with over 30 minutes and finally got them to drop the price to medium duty. The book also says the price includes 2 filters, you will only get the oil filter included and pay for the 2 fuel filters. Their excuse was "that is the way our computer is setup and we do not have the authority to change it". They have never checked the coolant to see if it needed additives. They have now started checking tire pressures so be prepared to wait more than an hour while they check every tire on the 18 wheelers, my wait was over 2 hours before I got in, over 3 hours by the time I got tired of arguing with them and walked out and left them with a few choice words of what I think of them. If I live long enough I may try them again in another state but not anytime in the next few years. emailing headquarters is a waste of time.

RE: clearcoat on front and rear fiberglass caps peeling on top

I had my front cap repainted in Red Bay, AL for $350. That was from the top of windshield back to the roof and down the sides of windshield to blend in the paint. He also painted the little white rain gutter to match the MH.

RE: How To Center Slide

If this is something new something has come loose to let it move to one side. If it is electric look in the basement at the tracks to see if one has come loose. Moving the slide is best done by the factory.

RE: Motorhomes for sale by owners

How about letting dreamfinders list it for you. it's free, won't cost you a cent unless he sells it, then only 1%. He takes and screens all calls and will only call you when he has a qualified buyer. He will give you the buyers phone number then you will call the buyer and work a deal with him. If it sells write a check for 1% and send it to Dreamfinders, what could be easier? You can also continue to list it and if you sell it first you owe then nothing.
