RE: Shared Cooking Duties

We have another couple the camps with us. They used to have a PUP but after he developed cancer, they had to sell it and now just stay with us. We have a good relationship and have been sharing meals for many years so there are no issues with us stepping on any toes.
The division of responsibilities for us various each time. Often the driver is the preparation time. My wife is retired and the woman in the other couple is not so we will often prepare meals in advance to share. Especially for Friday dinner or Saturday breakfast, it is an easy suggestion that the person with the most time in advance provide the food.
We do dutch oven cooking and I'm often wanting to try out a new dish. That is another easy way to get the meal sharing discussion rolling but suggesting trying something new and offering to provide it.
Our friends are very independent in spite of his illness and want to participate in providing the meals. My wife will often ask which they prefer to provide, breakfast or dinner, leaving the door open for them to make an offer. We have many times when we each perpare our own food and simply share the time together. Other times, we might go out to eat if there is some unique place near the CG. Often, the key is simply getting the conversation started and being flexible with whatever response is provided.
