RE: help - power issue...

Do you have a 50 amp service? If yes maybe you lost a leg of the circuit.
Buc1980, good thought.. Yes, I am on a 50amp Circuit. I will switch to the 30amp and see what happens.
Buc - that did it. I switched from the 50amp outlet to the 30amp outlet and that fixed the problem. Thanks!! Great suggestion. It is nice to know that it is not my camper.

RE: help - power issue...

Do you have an inverter? If yes, go check it as it may have a couple of push type circuit breakers on the side of it that could be tripped.
Hope this helps
Ron
I am not a power expert so help me a little more on this topic. In my bathroom, I have an IOTA power panel for both DC and AC. All of the DC fuses are good and all of the the AC breakers have been reset. Where would this inverter be?

help - power issue...

Hey everyone. We are camping at Ray Roberts Lake State Park north of Denton, Texas. Everything has been great until we started having power issues. We have a 2007 Montana 3400RL. This morning we lost the 120volt circuit in the bedroom/bathroom. I recycled the breaker but nothing changed. This afternoon we have lost the 120volt circuit to the A/C units (front and rear). The 120 volt circuit in the living room / kitchen is ok except for the microwave oven which is dead as well. The 12volt circuits all seem fine as well. I have checked the GFCI outlet in the bathroom and it seems ok as well. Any thoughts or advice?
Thanks,
Chris

Spring Break Camping Trip - Ray Roberts Lake State Park

Well we are making a quick trip up to the Dallas area and staying at Ray Roberts Lake State Park - Isle du Bois Unit for a few days. We have not explored this area much as we typically go south and west on our camping trips.
Have any of you stated at Ray Roberts Lake State Park - Isle du Bois Unit? Any fun family activities to suggest?
We were planning on checking out the Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center as well.

Chris

RE: Big Bend or Palo Duro?

Big Bend! We went back in 2008 before we got our 5th wheel and had a blast. We were in the area for about a week. Stop by Davis Mountains State Park on your way down. Great place as well.
Palo Duro is fun as well. You can't go wrong with either one.

RE: Canon City, CO - recommendations

We stayed at the Royal Gorge KOA just outside Canon City, CO last summer in June. It was "ok" at best. The sites were unlevel and the staff was a clueless. While it is not "run down" it is in need of updating. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The location was extremely convenient. Definitely not an RV resort but good enough or a couple of days.
As for the Royal Gorge area, we had a blast. Definitely do the Royal Gorge Train ride. Some nice scenery and very relaxing. We enjoyed exploring the Royal Gorge attractions as well. I still can't believe they let me drive my truck over that bridge!! Also take the drive down Skyline Drive if you don't have a motor home.
Here is a photo of our 5th wheel and site at the Royal Gorge KOA:

Tetons Advice

Ok, just like my Yellowstone post, we are headed north this summer to the Tetons and Yellowstone. We will be coming into the Tetons from the south (Colorado).
I am looking for a nice RV park in the Tetons to stay for about 4 nights. I have found a place called Colter Bay RV Park. Any thoughts on it or other suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Yellowstone Advice

Hello fellow RVers... I am in the process of planning our our trip to Yellowstone for the summer (2012). Our 5th wheel is big (38 feet) so we are planning on staying on West Yellowstone, MT and taking day tours into the park. My main question is should we spend some of our time in West Yellowstone to explore the western and northern side of the park and the move over to a campground between the east entrance to Yellowstone and Cody, WY to explore the eastern side of the park or should we just stay in West Yellowstone the entire time?
Is there anything worth doing in Cody, WY?
Also, our rig is 38 feet long and 13.3 feet high, I assume traversing the main roads in Yellowstone won't be a problem assuming we take it slow and easy, right?
Thanks,
Chris

RE: Colorado Springs KOA

We stayed there this past summer. The facility is right off of I-25 and the road noise is horrible. We could hear the road noise over our A/C unit. There is not a piece of grass on the entire property except around the entrance. It is fine for a quick one-nighter but I wouldn't make it a destination.
Unfortunately, other than Cheyenne Mountain State Park there is really not a good RV park in Co Springs. I don't understand that it is a great destination.
Good luck.

RE: Utah or Colorado for next family vac.

We just did the Colorado Trip back in June. It was awesome. Our trip included the following:
Canyon City, CO (Royal Gorge)
Colorado Springs, CO (Pike's Peak, USAF Academy, Manitou Springs, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, etc..)
Estes Park, CO (Rocky Mountain National Park).
We plan on doing Teton and Yellowstone next summer so any advice on that trip would be great.

RE: Garner SP, Texas--what to do/what to see?

We never go during the summer due to crowds and the heat but we do go every Thanksgiving and spend 4 days there. We enjoy hiking the trails especially around "Old Baldy". Make a day trip over to the Lost Maples State Park as well.
