Georgie Boy Pursuit Owners - 2005

Would like to hear from any GeorgieBoy Pursuit owners that have
had problems with their living room slide. We have had to have
the shear pin (bolt) replaced seven times since we purchased it
in 2005. Had factory of Forest River repair it once and they
told us we would never have to worry about again. WRONG!! Have
just found out that everyone that has done the cosmetic repair on
it has done it wrong in using a #8 bolt and nut and that the proper
repair required a solid pin. Would appreciate any suggestions or
advise on how to properly fix this problem

RE: Medicare-supplement???

AARP supplement from United Healthcare covers you anywhere you are. Very
important for full-time RV'ers. Have had major medcal problems over the
past two years and Medicare and supplement have covered all the costs

RE: Background check?

We have made reservations at an RV Park in New Port Richey, FL for the
2012-13 season. Paid $30.00 for a background check in order to stay in the
park. Didn't bother us at all. The best part of that park is they allow
no dogs--even visiting and it will be a nice quite place to spend the winter

RE: Prescription Drugs

All my prescriptions (Plan D thru Medco) are refilled on a 90 day basis
and are sent to wherever we are. Sometimes we must plan to stay in an
area long enough to receive a shipment of medication. Have never had
a problem.

RE: Time for tires, Firestone or Sumitomo? Update

Put two new Hankooks on the front of our 35' GeorgieBoy last June. Could
not believe the difference in handling over the old Goodyears. Are planning
to replace 4 rears before we "hit the road" again. Quote for 4 OTD was
$1,600.00

Herculese Tires

Went shopping today for four new tires for the rear of our motorhome.
Last June, we purchased two new Hankook tires for the front and was
immediately impressed with the quality of the ride and handling on
different types of roads.
The dealer we went to gave me a price on Hankook and Herculese
tires.
Would appreciate anyone's experience with Herculese Tires. Had
never heard of this brand before. Difference in price was a
little over $300.
Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

RE: Dry Camp / Fill Freshwater Tank?

Our 2005 GeorgieBoy has a separate fill knob for the city water tank. Fills
until full then there is an overflow that lets you know when the water tank
is full.

RE: Microwave Oven Interior

This is for Phil. Don't bother to respond to any of my posts in the future.
You have no call to make this a political issue about China. The model we
have is 8 years old and no longer in production. For your information
Samsung is sending us a monetary remuneration due to our problem. The other
problem is the opening for the microwave is too small for the newer "built-ins"
and we have researched this and talked to dealers with nosuccess. If you
look on the internet you will find that the repair paints are available and many people have used them, quiet successfully. I would also suggest that if
you have nothing constructive to say, that you discontinue responding to people's inquiries. I,for one do not care how you would handle this problem!!

Microwave Oven Interior

We have a Samsung microwave in our 2005 Georgieboy Pursuit. It has
had heavy use over the past six years and the interior ceiling
has bubbled and the paint? is starting to come off. Also, paint
is worn off where the glass tray rotates. Have found numerous
suppliers of a paint for repair. Would appreciate hearing from
anyone who has experienced this problem and what measures were
done to repair. Have looked for new microwaves, unsuccessfully,
as ours is a 2004 model, no longer made by samsung. The only
models that come close to our measurements are table-top and do
not have the proper venting for an over-the-range model.
Thanks for all responses!

Entry Door Pull Down Blind

We have a 2005 GeorgieBoy Pursuit and the pull-down blind for the
entry door has gone "belly up". Walmart and Lowes do not handle
this type. Would like some suggestions as to where we might find a
replacement blind. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

RE: health insurance?

Before my wife turned 65, we had a policy through AARP, underwritten by
United Health Care. Very reasonable premium and coverage anywhere in
the US. We are residents of South Dakota

RE: Montana LLC

We chose South Dakota. Very full-time RV friendly. Contact Alternative
Resources in Sioux Falls. They are extremely good for mail service and
assistance in becoming state residents. No state income tax, vehicle
inspections, personal property tax, low insurance rates.

Counter Drawer hardware

Drawers for silverware, pots & pans, etc. have metal rides that
fit into plastic brackets against the back wall. Bought some
new plastic brackets to replace with, but the metal slides on the
drawers are too wide and do not fit the plastic brackets.
We have a 2005 GeorgieBoy Pursuit. Any suggestions as to where I
might find either the plastic brackets that will fit the metal slides
or metal slides that will fit the plastic brackets I already have.
All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

RE: Destination - Savannah - tips?

Be sure to visit the "Mighty 8th Air Force Museum" Awesome. Try some
shrimp and grits at Vics on the waterfront. There is a Good Sam park about
5 miles off I-95 to the east.
