RE: health insurance?

Before my wife turned 65, we had a policy through AARP, underwritten by
United Health Care. Very reasonable premium and coverage anywhere in
the US. We are residents of South Dakota

RE: Montana LLC

We chose South Dakota. Very full-time RV friendly. Contact Alternative
Resources in Sioux Falls. They are extremely good for mail service and
assistance in becoming state residents. No state income tax, vehicle
inspections, personal property tax, low insurance rates.

RE: What do you tell people when they ask where you are from?

Iam from Ohio and my wife is from Puerto Rico. When people ask we tell them
"Home is where we roam". We have South Dakota residency, registered
vehicles, motorhome and car.

RE: Full Time RV Residency?

We have been South Dakota residents for 6+ years. Alternative Resources
is our mail forwarder and we have been very pleased with their services.
South Dakota is a very"friendly" full-timer state!

Wintering in Clearwater FL area

Will be looking for an RV Park in the Clearwater, FL area for
the next winter season. Would appreciate any input about the
RV parks in this area--good-bad-or indifferent. Thanks, in
advance.

Counter Drawer hardware

Drawers for silverware, pots & pans, etc. have metal rides that
fit into plastic brackets against the back wall. Bought some
new plastic brackets to replace with, but the metal slides on the
drawers are too wide and do not fit the plastic brackets.
We have a 2005 GeorgieBoy Pursuit. Any suggestions as to where I
might find either the plastic brackets that will fit the metal slides
or metal slides that will fit the plastic brackets I already have.
All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

RE: Destination - Savannah - tips?

Be sure to visit the "Mighty 8th Air Force Museum" Awesome. Try some
shrimp and grits at Vics on the waterfront. There is a Good Sam park about
5 miles off I-95 to the east.

RE: Hot water heater will not turn on

Had a similar problem some time ago. There was a 5 amp fuse inside the
water heater outside door. Replaced this fuse and all has worked well
since.

RE: Cold weather tonite in Central Florida

I have a trouble light with a 100 watt light bulb. Put this into the
water and sewer compartment. Provides plenty of warmth. Also you can
let the furthest faucet drip. This can keep the water moving enough to
prevent freezing. If cold is extreme--down into the 20's I always unhook
the hose from the water source.

We bought our replacement blades at W. W. Grainger. They handled the brand
that are on our 2005 GeorgieBoy.

RE: slide will not close

We have a 2005 GeorgieBoy. Have replaced living room slide shear pin
on more than one occasion. Seems like a poor design to me, but not a
major repair, usually.

RE: Medicare-supplement???

My wife and I both have AARP-United Healthcare policies. Good anywhere in the
US, for sure. I have had extensive medical expenses over the past two years
due to colorectal cancer. Have never paid a bill--all costs have been
covered by Medicare and our Medicare supplement. Great plan.

RE: Rose Parade in your Motorhome

Was living in Lompoc, CA in 1988. Nephew and I went to Pasadena on
Saturday prior to the Rose Parade. Found a spot along Colorado Blvd.
(no motorhome though). We partied with others along the parade route
and I've always said "We slept in the gutter" really only napping during
breaks of the partying. As I watch the parade each year it brings back
those lasting memories of life! Happy New Year to all RV'ers and everyone.
Have a safe and memorable 2012

RE: did you buy an rv for your pet?

Absolutely not. RV's and dogs do not mix to my opinion. Too many people
allow the dogs to control their lives and do not train them properly. Just
had to report "barking dogs (2) to the office of the RV park where we are.
Get tired of waking up to some dustmop looking dog, yipping and barking at
everything.

Outside Water Heater grate

Had a water heater replaced last year--Atwood 6 gal. for a 2005
Georgie Boy Pursuit. Have noticed a substantial soot build-up
on the grate and the side of the MH above the great. Would
appreciate input as to how to solve this problem and what may
be the cause. Thanks for all your replies.

RE: Changing from electric to hydralic auto levelers

We have Bigfoot levelers on our 2005 Georgie Boy, 35' and have never had
a problem with them. Always clean the shafts and spray with some silicone
lubricant after an extended stay somewhere.

RE: Holding tank sensors

All you have to do is open the toilet valve, shine a good flashlight into the opening to see how close the water is to the top. Simple, easy, and doesn't
cost a dime.

RE: SOFT FLOOR

Consider yourself lucky. Our bathroom floor sagged under linoleum due to an
unseen drain leak--cheap pressboard. Cost to repair was just over $6,000.
Everything in the bathroom had to be removed--one outside wall, shower stall,
vanity, toilet, medicine cabinet, door and door frame. Flooring was replaced
with marine plywood, water protection fabric, and new linoleum. Very professional job and quality work.
