RE: Why steal a truck tailgate?

They are simple to steal(less than a minute) and expensive to buy. If you want to make it harder to steal, put a hose clamp on the open hinge side. Dave

RE: Good place to spend summer when Wintering in Laughlin, NV

We bought a cabin in the Arizona White Mountains for our summer escape. The temperature is mild with cool evenings. It is only 5 hours from Lake Havasu where we winter. Do a few Google searches for the Show Low/White Mountains area. Dave

RE: Helpful vendors or scam artists?

I had friends come visit last week. They stopped at a Mobil station in Flagstaff and were given the same story. I think next time I'm in Flag I might stop and see if I get the same sell. These guys need to be reported. Dave

RE: I broke all 8 studs clean off

Mustang has the correct answer. You put one new hub on with new studs and it was the one that failed. New studs need to be checked frequently until they are seated. You will need to check the torque on your now newer hub since you replaced it. Dave

RE: Im having problems reading my multimeter

Does this post reflect the accuracy of other information given on this forum? Only 2 in 5 know the correct answer which is a whopping 40%. Maybe some people should only give answers when they are sure they are correct. Dave

RE: Question RE: Battery Disconnect / Landing Gear

I would definitely buy the remote for $383. I have one and it is very convenient. Dave

RE: Snowbird migration about over

Spring break sent most of our snowbirds north. Dave

RE: Stuck valves

Just open up the underbelly for diagnosis. It isn't that big of a deal. Dave

RE: Proper proceedure at a resort campground

Our resort does it as a courtesy, no tip expected. It also helps to prevent damage to the water and electric utilities. Dave

RE: Wireless Security System for Winter Absence

I have an alarm system with Front Point Security. It has door and window sensors, motion sensors, and this next year I will have a low temperature sensor. They also have other sensor types. I can monitor the sensors from my computer or smart phone. I know other alarm systems offer comparable service. Mine is about $40/ month. Dave

RE: hauling my golf cart

I doubt that your 5'er frame could support that much weight bouncing up and down without damaging it. Dave

RE: Generator grounding, humourous....

Sorry that won't meet code. The rod needs to be 8' long and copper coated. I am going to show this pic to my local building inspector. That should get him going! Dave

RE: BD variable vane exhaustbrake for Duramax

I just ordered mine tonite. Extreme diesel has a superbowl sale and they are going for $680 with free shipping. Most other vendors are asking $850. I will post about this after I install. Dave

RE: Yamaha that took a licking and keeps on ticking

I run my Yamaha 6300 @ 500' in Lake Havasu and @ 6600' in the Arizona white mountains and can tell no difference in performance. I would never trade for another brand. Dave

RE: Confused, can anyone help?

I think AZ DMV will catch up with you. We moved to AZ and got AZ driver licenses and waited for our Colorado plates to expire. We got a notice in the mail asking when we would have them licensed in AZ. Dave

RE: Honda vs Yamaha

The Yami 3000 is a good generator and would work fine w/ your AC. If you want to place it on a cargo carrier, you will need to reinforce your setup. I have the Yami 6300 on a carrier behind my 5th wheel. The 6300 only weighs 200 lbs so I thought the cargo rack rated at 500lbs would be OK. I traveled about 700 miles and found my rack drooping. To remedy this, I welded two more 2" square tubes to my receiver. I then ran two square tubes out of these to support the sides of the carrier. These tubes were held in place with 5/8" hitch pins. I spaced the two new receiver tubes the same distance that a swivel wheel trailer requires. That way I could always upgrade to the swivel wheel if I wanted. Dave

RE: Quadra big foot

I paid $2,000 less and installed it myself for the Reico-Titan leveler. It isn't automatic, but with the included remote it is easy to level the 5'er. I agree with others, it is one of the best accessories I have ever added. Dave
