RE: built in gas latern in camper?

As a challenge I'll guess the model year of 1975-1979?
How close am I?
Couldn't tell you for sure. But after some digging around in the camper, I did find a warranty card for the water heater that said it was purchased in '74, so I'm guessing/assuming that the camper is also a mid 70's model.
You Don't know what year camper you bought?? :h
Hi,
It is probably a gas mantle lamp. Lots of light--and lots of heat and moisture too. Perfect for cold weather camping, but do not sleep with it running.
Ok, that settles it for me - it gets yanked and replaced with battery operated light :D (I'll be pulling a good chunk of the interior while doing rotted wood repairs, so that will be a perfect time to also pull the line for this, and replace it with wiring for the LED lights) I have a tendency to sit down after a long day, close my eyes "for just a minute", and wake up several hours later :D
Thanks guys! :)

RE: Gas Wars

To quote mpfireman, "AH, the good old days", gas wars were common back in the late '50s early '60s, watched it go from $.29 on one side of town, to $.19 on the other side. The good times are gone, my car back then wouldn't hold $5 worth, today it kills me to put $40 worth in a Kia Spectra. :(

Look at my post here...

Where might I find the hot water low point drain?Somewhere underneath, look for a couple of white pvc tubes with caps on them.
Also, take that red plug out of your pressure relief valve, water is supposed to come out of there at certain times, but, with the cap in there,it can't do it's job properly.

RE: dinghy towing vehicles

Ford Flex can be towed. Just put in neutral and go.Ford Fusion Hybrid also, don't take my word for it but, I believe the Focus can be flat towed, of course all of them can be towed on a dolly.

RE: Storing your RV?

I'm having a separate garage built for my RV. I'd rather keep it on my property than store it somewhere else. I live out in the country, so no worries about zoning, etc. Absolutely, why not.
Should I have electric and water put in?
30A electric, absolutely When storing your RV at home do you hook everything up? Any advantage or disadvantage to hooking it up?
I only hookup electric, I can't think of a disadvantage
And slides? Any downside to leaving them out or should they be stored in retracted mode? Not sure if there is a disadvantage to leaving them out, But, I normally leave mine in, but , do put them out every once in a while.

RE: Ford E450 spring clamps on hoses

I just had my MH's cooling system serviced and the shop called out the spring clamps that Ford uses on the hoses. They said that they get brittle and fail and as part of the service they are going to replace all of the spring clamps with stainless steel gear (screw) style clamps. On my MH that is a count of 16 clamps. I looked at the spring clamps that they removed and yes most were brittle and fatigued.
The owner of the shop said that they won't service the cooling system without replacing the spring clamps, because they don't want to do the work just to have a clamp fail a couple of thousand miles from now and spraying coolant everywhere.
I don't know if this applies to Ford F-series.I've never heard that one before, but I wouldn't complain about replacing them as I'm not a big fan of the spring clamps anyways.

RE: RV Park Superguide?

I keep getting e-mail ads from RV Park Superguide even though I have twice clicked on the unsubscribe link. I have asked them twice to give me an example of some parks that honor their club discounts, but have not received a reply. Does anyone use them? And if so, are you satisfied with them?If you don't want thier emails, go to your email settings & Block Sender.
