RE: Onan Marquis 7000 Issues

My Marquis had a problem similar to yours. The problem with mine was a bad connector on the wiring harness from the remote start in the RV to the gen set. It was at the gen set end where the harness plugs into the actual gen set stop/start harness. The wire was not properly crimped at the factory. I was fooling around trying to find the problem with the genny running, when the wire jumped out and the genny stopped at the same time. I used a paper clip to release the connector out of the plug, re-crimped it, inserted back in the plug, haven't had a problem since then and that was 6 years ago. It was just luck, believe me. Could be a place to look.

Also GrampaKoot, you might get better info if put in "Snowbird" section.

RE: Blue Sky RV Park Yuma

Blue Sky is next to the park we stay in. It is on S.Frontage Rd. west of Fortuna Rd. Sort of between Western Sands and West Wind. The new section they put in has decent size sites. The older section, built before slides and larger rigs, let's just say the sites are sort of small. In 2002 we looked there and the sites that were available I could either put out the awning of park the truck, and we had no slides then. I do think you can do better for the price, but you are looking at prime time.

RE: Soliciting actual experiences w/ flatbeds & weigh stations

A call to your insurance company may be in order. In '03 when we were buying a new truck in Texas I was looking at a flatbed at a dealer. The salesman told me that I may want to verify the insurance cost flatbed versus pickup bed. Well I did and there was a difference. The dealer really had nothing to gain or lose as he stocked both the regular bed and flatbed other than telling us. Of course this situation could be different across the US.

RE: Kurt Bush snaps again....

I love snap-outs in sports! Amare Stoudamire of the Knicks smacks a fire extingusher box, breaks the glass, cuts his wrist and required surgery. So when he got his sixth foul and was out of the game the other night, the Miami Heat PA announcer said "Amare Stoudamire has been extingushed from the game". Of course he was reprimanded. Shoot, Darlington used last years blow up with Harvick to push tickets.

RE: LatestDiesel Fuel Cost

$3.98 in Henderson and Sin City, NV. $3.93 in Boulder City, NV. In Alamo, NV. this AM $3.99. Here in Ely, the best I've seen coming thru town is $4.05.

RE: Need RV Service Las Vegas, Nevada

If it is a front suspension issue, find a reputable front end, alignment, and suspension shop. Stay away from RV shops on something like this. An RV shop may foll around with it, or sub it out to an above mentioned shop. IMHO

RE: West Yellowstone to Dubois Wy.

There is no way to get an honest time. If the bison decide to walk the center line of the road for 1 1/2 miles before they decide to let traffic go on, you will go their speed. Happens to us quite a few times and we love it, as you can see the veins come out on the neck of drivers in a rush.

There is a major problem with the blend doors breaking and restricting air flow. Go to www.dieseltruckresource.com and search A/C problems

RE: Consignment of your RV

Make sure the consignment joint is on the straight and narrow. We spend the winter in Yuma, AZ. which is a ripe area for ripoffs due to all the snowbirds in the area. Two winters ago an outfit was selling MHs to folks but they never got the title. Of course the sellers never got there money. He operated in two counties in Arizona and I far as I know they are still looking for him. Do your homework.

RE: Tires in Idaho or Montana?

We rarely use L. S. only because he is not in some areas we go. But some L. S. shops have a huge outdoor bay usually with a roof over it. In agricutural areas they wok on tractors, horse and stock trailers etc. Three that quickly come to mind are Poleline Rd. in Twin Falls, ID., Wells, NV., Dillon, MT. and I know there are many more. Not all L. S. shops are owned by the company.

RE: Hoover Dam

As KCharles said, there is parking but there will be walking involved. There are no pull-offs along the new road and bridge. You take the road to the visitors center (things are well marked) which is also the old road across the dam. There are some lots past the dam on the east side. That original road now ends in a cul-d-sac past the parking areas. There is also a parking area that really won't take larger RVs before you get to the old dam crossing. There is an excellent trail that takes you up to the new bridge and you may walk along the bridge. Great scenery, take your camera! Also plaques with good info on them. If you have time and are an Elks Lodge member the Boulder City lodge has a nice RV park so you could eliminate the parking situation at the dam. That is where we are sitting now.

RE: Bull Run Campground, Manassas VA

We have stayed there many times over the years before we went fulltime. About 85 miles from our former house in Penna. About twice a year for ballgames, Fourth of July DC fireworks. Always worked great for us. Near a Metro station for inner DC travel.

RE: Yuma 2011 winter visitors, numbers down...

If you want info on the ill-faded Arizona Marketplace search the Yuma Sun. www.yumasun.com This is ongoing saga. Dan Dinwiddie is a real class act. If you happen to own property at 32nd and 5E Dan would like to talk to you. Some friends of ours were dropping their MH off at the market place for summer storage on Sunday 4-16 before heading back to PNW. Were met at the entrance gate by security and said no way! "You probably lost your $400 but at least you have your MH". I went down and counted about 21 units stored there. How would you like to contact those people? I think the judge scheduled a July sell date.

Yeah, Gemstone, saw that. It would be interesting how they get their numbers. I do know one thing, the oil money in Alberta sure brought alot of new trucks down here.

Had tickets for the "500" 1974-2003. Work camped in Lot #2 in 2003, that is around the Speedway American Legion building. It was an outstanding "job". They took really good care of us. Have fun!

Still here. Just came in off the patio about an hour ago. Looks like Tuesday 93. We always stay into April. Sometimes there are spikes as now, but is still nice. Probably out of here next Monday or Tuesdy.
