RV Show Closed until propane tanks are removed
You'll like this one. I decided to go to the Greater Philadelphia RV show. It started at noon today. I put my $20 bill in front of the cashier and saw that there was a large crowd of people (who already paid for their tickets) waiting to get in. I was at the ticket counter when there was an announcement that the Fire Marshall was not going to let anyone into the building until all of the propane tanks were removed. This is equivalent to going to a car show and then finding out that the Fire Marshal wants all of the gasoline tanks removed. A good half of the RVs have permanently mounted propane tanks. In other words, you cannot remove them.
I saw that my $20 bill was still on the countertop and the crowd was starting to get ugly. I reached into counter, grabbed my $20 and ran while I still could.

I guess the Fire Marshall got his kickback;)

I just bought some Sumitomos for my BMW 745li. They are made in Japan. I'd never buy a Chinese tire (Not a political statement, just a safety concern).

My LP generator had an issue with LP gas solnoid. It was getting lazy in its old age and would not open all the way. This would prevent the regulator and the carb from getting all the fuel that it needed. A full electrical load will require more fuel. If no extra fuel can be had, it may do as you have described.

The Yamaha won't fit, but the Honda will fit? How much larger is the Yamaha?
I ran into a situation where the portable generator ALMOST fit. I was able to trim an inch off the tp lip of the storage entrance. You can not see the cut when the door is shut. It was just enough to allow the generator to fit. Could this be a solution?

I plug the motorhome into my 800 watt Harbor Frieght 2-stroke. It works fine as long as you know how to manage your electrical loads. The fridge and water heater is on gas and the battery charger is set to low charge. No A/C, No microwave, No electric heater, No coffee maker and tell the 'boss' to lay off the hair dryer/curling iron:) You should be fine after that.

Because the vehicle may have several owners during its lifetime, I would imagine that it adjusts the engine based on a rolling 1000-mile snapshot of driving. Some google searches say to just disconnect the battery to reset it.
My BMW has a learning process for the 6-speed transmission. To reset to factory deault (resetting the learning process) you have to push the gas pedal to the floor for 30 seconds (with the engine off and the ignition on). Maybe Ford has a similar reset process other than having to disconnect the battery.

I applied my 4 coats of Red Max Pro this past spring. The rig stayed shiny and clean for the season. Our Thanksgiving trip to the in-laws farm and dirt roads usually trashes the motor home with dust and mud. It didn't seem to look as bad after our trip home. I like to think that the dirt didn't have a chance to latch on. I have noticed some small cracks in the surface, so another coat is due in the near future.

A Metal Handle or some type of cable inside the current plastic one.
Even better: Run the Electric and Fuel lines through the handle so that a thief would ruin the generator if they cut the handle. I would rather have a messed up generator that somebody tried to steal, then knowing that my generator is providing a thief with comfort and convenience.

Would filling a pool with a fire hose save more water than using a garden hose?
In my way of thinking, flow is flow. I couldn't imagine that any amp hours could be saved.

I have one of the 2-cycle Harbor Frieght 800-Watt generators. I've owned many different generators (including a few of the Honda EU2000i units). It has gotten a lot more use in the past three months because of our recent rounds of storms. My parents ran the little 2-stroke for 4 days to power the fridge and lights. I lent it out to other to few other friends who then used it for a week when a storm hit their area. I mainly use it to charge my batteries. It is really not a bad little unit. It seems more quiet than it's specifications suggest because of the low pitch.

RE: Life span of chassis batteries?
4 years is my average for a Starting battery. I replaced mine this past weekend. I was hoping to get one last trip out of it before storing it away, but it was too far gone. This is the third replacement in 8 years. A new one when I bought the motorhome used, a new one in 2007 and a new one last week. 4 years seems to be my average, but I don't baby them as well as I should.
My Trojan House batteries are another story. 8 years and going strong.

I have a funnel with about a 2' hose attached. I put the hose in the filler and wire the funnel up higher to the rear ladder. It all involves the use of a step ladder too.
X 2 for me, the ladder comes in handy for this.
X3. During an oil change, it can take quite some time to get four gallons of oil down a 3/4" hose. It really helps if the oil is warm so that it will flow faster. I want to design a way to used my air compressor to force oil out of the jug and through the hose.

Seems like the big Irene storm bought up all of Mayberrys stock.
I can vouch for that! I drive past Mayberrys on the way back from work and their small parking lot was packed with cars for the week before and after the storm. They must have been cleaning out the shelves.

Oak Grove in Hatfield PA is a year-round campground. It is about 10 minutes off the Lansdale exit of the NE Extension of the PA Turnpike.
I have a contract position in Hackettstown NJ and would love to find a campground that is open past October.

I have an Onan 6500-watt propane generator in my diesel-powered motorhome. I have a 130-lb tank (40 gallons) which will hold 32 gallons of propane (at 80%). In very hot weather, I made it 30 hours running both A/Cs and all of the propane appliances.

I have seen a lot of 35 foot(max) sites filled with the 40+ foot Big Toys.
At Penn State tailgates, 40 feet is the max, but there are plenty of 45 foot coaches there anyway.
Tell them what they want to hear. I'm sure that you'll be fine.
