RE: SF Bay to Mobile, AL in June. I-40 or I-10
We are getting transferred, Uncle Sam says so!
I think we will be taking the I-40 route. I am somewhat familiar with that route, at least. I know the Flagstaff climb and Tehachipi will be the slow spots. Staying far from Los Angeles is a bonus. Thanks for the input!

SF Bay to Mobile, AL in June. I-40 or I-10
We will be moving from the SF bay to Mobile, AL, this summer.
I will be driving a '10 Silverado 1500 (5.3L, 6 speed and 3.42's), towing apx 6klb of 20' Toy Hauler. We have leveling/air bags/big trans cooler/etc.
Is the flatest, coolest route 40 to Amarillo, 287 to DFW, 20 to shreeveport, 49 down to souther LA then 10 to Mobile?
Or 10 dang near all the way? The mileage is almost identical, we just want the easiest trip.
