RE: looking at 1990 Road Trek, $8500

Reality is littered with people who choose to pay too much for too little, particularly those you find in the pacific northwest, where they feel a nice westy is worth 20k plus. If you want to be a part of that reality, then so be it. I gave honest real examples of significantly cheaper vans for sale right now! Not imaginary vans I made up. And while I never mentioned "cruising" NADA it is a well renowned industry standard source for vehicle pricing - meaning unless your dealing with extremely rare hard to find items paying 3x it's recommended price is to put it nicely "silly". I'm giving an educated opinion because someone asked. Of course in the end the real value is up to the purchaser. I back up my opinion with real life examples and industry standard figures. Shoot me your zip I'll find some better priced examples closer to you if you would like.

RE: looking at 1990 Road Trek, $8500

Definitely pass - price for the age and miles is too high. As mentioned above some people get the idea these class b's are gold. I can't believe how many late 80's early 90's vans with 100k and people were asking as high as 12-15k dollars! I can't imagine anyone is paying those prices. A realistic price for that van as mentioned would be around 5k tops - and go down from there for any flaws less than perfect. And again as mentioned 100k miles is usually time for most common transmission failures in vehicles of that vintage. So that's another possible expenditure at that point.
I spend a lot of time on Craigslist lol wish I had more cash but if your diligent 8500 should buy you something well into the 2000 range year wise - there was an 2003 roadtrek in my area (Columbus oh) last week advertised for 5500 w 85 k miles.

RE: Side Flip Window Open While Raining? (Class B)

As a side note, my new to me van has 2 of these style flip out chrome rimmed windows on the sliding door. Does anyone know of a screen for these? Mine came with none and the make a great breeze when opened but I'm concerned about insects as the heat wears on.
